You yanks watch far too many movies. John Browning invented the automatic about 100 years ago.

No shit... Since I have to spell everything out in minute detail for you stupid yanks, I'll explain the comment. Our boy from Texas is carrying a cowboy gun from the late 1800's that takes about 3 minutes to unload spent brass and load fresh rounds. I was suggesting perhaps it's time to take advantage of modern (100 year old) technology.

Well let me spell this out for YOU in minute detail...until you learn how to fight for your freedoms don't be trying to tell US how to do it down here.

Agreed, but the fate of Australia has been decided.

It is unfortunate, but the military capability of Australia is less than that of Thailand or Indonesia.

That is not of much use in any major conflict but is a far too heavy burden for western powers. The same could be said of Canada (military capability), but residing north of the planets longest undefended border, their proximity to the only remaining superpower is the nation's saving grace.
 Quoting: 535 1326993

Spot on - Australia doesn't have the ability to project conventional military capacity over strategic distances. Seriously a standing force of less that 250 fighter aircraft and no dedicated bombers is going to be limited. When the SHTF I have no doubt that we would give up anywhere north of Brisbane and try to defend the population centres of Melbourne and Sydney, poisoning all the food and water sources to create logistic problems for an invasion.

This does ignore the non-conventional technology we have developed and possess (and have shared with the USA) but most of this provides a more supporting and communications role than actual weaponry. I'm yet to be convinced of the weapon value of EM and the like.

In the meantime though - while Australia blindly accepts foreign ownership and international mining, there is no need for us to defend as we are giving the place away anyway.

Just glad I live in Tasmania - might get an extra few months out of that :)

australia is not on china's radar, the crown still holds it tight for uranium deposits mostly and sadly troops as well...china's busy in africa working for material has been since early 2000's, it was a point of tension during the early summer...why we wound up off the coast of china, we started working in africa covertly of course, and started the kony 2012 campaign but it blew up in the crowns/belgium complexes face when they realized forces were spread too thin to even consider a conflict there
 Quoting: hellslastangel 20056488

Currently, this is correct. China is unconcerned in regards to Australia. The UK cannot help in defence of Australia in any meaningful way, and aggressive expansion by Australia is not possible given their current military situation.

In the mid to long term, however, China will have the green light to do with Australia what they wish. It will most likely take form of a fiscal partnership for settling rights. It is only logical.

For now, China is more than happy to continue the relationship with Australia while other resources are developed. Once that is finished, their eye will be fixed upon Australia, and this cannot be stopped.

Over the long term, China has been backed into a corner. There is no arable land to speak of. War with Korea, Russia, or Japan is out of the question. The weakest, resource rich, and least populated area will be where expansion takes place.
 Quoting: 535 1326993

thats a good point that really dont have anywhere to go in there, least not that is of useful resource expansion...although i've been thinking on this one, seeing the switch that's going in washington, the old head complex being pushed out by what looks like the china/russia/saud complex...seeing the influence the xa juing party is garnering in china, putin seeming to kind of get scared of the idea of the maoists losing power, breszinski and o backing off helping isreal, it makes me wonder if as we withdraw troops and aid from the middle east area, if china wouldn't be there with a helping hand, expanding up from africa with the help of egypt and o's brotherhood freinds to brokering things there...

Re: Hey Foreigners! Ya'll really got it twisted about the USA
you know, my point was merely that we aren't who you think we are. I expected some trash talking from you guys, and the truth is there's lots of bad people in America and there's good people in your countries as well. This post wasn't meant to demean your countries in anyway. It gets old hearing the same crap out of people who have no idea what our country is about. Sure we have a fucked up government but we aren't going to just give up on the things that matter to us, and we sure aren't waiting for a political party to come along and save us. We have problems but they are OUR problems. Just like your countries problems are YOUR problems. Stop and think how often does anyone attack every aspect of YOUR country? Never. It's always how evil fat stupid Americans need to do this and do that. What's really sad is that Our doors are open to the world, with the promise of opportunity and freedom. There's a REASON why there is such an increase in"blacks and browns" in our population. We took them in from places they didn't want to be. Why don't you help "solve" the problems of the Muslim countries that stone women for being raped? We'll handle this over here.
 Quoting: YepTexan

As world leader it's your job to do some fucking leading. We're all waiting for it. You know why I'm hard on you? I don't hate you. I hate your laziness and sloth and your pissing away of the last best hope. That's what I hate. It makes me want to vomit to have to sit here and watch you do it. I expect better than what I've seen.

You should have started killing those people who are betraying you a long time ago. If you'd have done it before the 11th hour you wouldn't be where you are right now. Due to your inaction, the forces of evil have got total control now. There's nothing to stop them. if they want fagggots in the airports feeling your ass up, they put faggots in the airports. It's at the point now that they do whatever the fuck they want and nobody stops them. Not you, not the courts, not the press, nobody.

They have you in the hole and your time is running out. Your industrial base is nearly destroyed, your bankrupt, you have faggots feeling your ass up in the airport for god's sake. I don't know what more I can tell you to make you see that the time for bloody rampage is now. You waited so long you're all out of options. There is no more getting somebody else elected, or submitting another petition or holding another freedom rally. It's killing time, it's that or the end. You people don't seem to understand that. The march of tyranny is not at its beginning, it's coming to its end.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19135628

When they come to confiscate our guns is when you will see real change. And we know who will win that war.

Personally, I am done with the world relying on us to save the planet. I would love nothing more than to pack it all up, get out of everyone else's hair, defend our own borders, drill here, and leave everyone else to fight it out amongst themselves. That's pretty much the consensus among the majority of us.

Bad habits are hard to break and if a true conservative or what the hell, better yet, a libertarian were to run, people are immediately thrown out of their comfort zone because the fear tactics start to play out. RP is a good example.

It is unfortunate, but Canada has been slated for resource use by the United States. In certain circles it is known as "America North".

Australia has been promised to China. It is often misunderstood that China is in need of Australian raw materials (which is true to a certain extent), but the real value of such a vast underdeveloped and lightly populated land is its freshwater supply. Does the world fail to realise that Australia is already over populated in the areas that are actually habitable? I suppose so. We're a fucking desert. Invade us please, I'd love to see millions of troops die of thirst & dehydration.

Yeah crossing the 2000km of hostile desert creates a few issues for any decent sized invasion force, it's not the little distances you see in the MidEast. Plus the only food and water sources can be poisoned/burned.

Come in the wet season and try and get an army to the south that would be even funnier.

But like I said, no need to invade, we are already "owned"

You assume far too much.

1. That Australia will continue to be populated over the long term with the current racial make-up.

2. That the nation will receive the help it has been promised from western nations.

It is all but assured that none of this will happen.

Things might be looking dark right now, but you underestimate what true Americans are capable of doing and WILL do if push comes to shove. For every left wing liberal activist in this country there's at least one Man who was raised with a gun in his hand, can fish and hunt for a living, and can survive whatever's coming and damn sure ain't afraid of a fight. You may laugh and call us rednecks or whatever you think is funny but WE are the backbone of this country, our forefathers the heroes of this nation. They had a pair and we do too. So canada, aussies, Brits, and all you backwards smug third worlders, just keep on thinking that we are about to fall. I'd like to see any of you with the balls to stand up in my home town and spout out your hate and put down our country to our face. When it comes right down to it the whole world is gonna find out what Americans are made of.

I hope the u.s gets back to its former self, I always wanted to visit THAT America.

No need to call us Brits backwards or any other country for that matter, just remember whose language your speaking...and no American isn't a language; it's a dialect.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

we're doing what we can, we are trying to avoid bloodshed, but now backs are really being pressed to the wall, i think within six monthes you'll all see which way this is going...whether that be civil war, the "elite" reformation scam, or the genuine legal reclaiming of this country..but even after that the authoritarian complexes are in place not obly here but most "civilized" counties, so even if you free the world, the temptation for the next faction will be there

That's pathetic. Put up or shut up.

You're gonna do nothing but watch another football game and drink another beer and take it up the ass with a smile just like you do when you go to the airport.

Re: Hey Foreigners! Ya'll really got it twisted about the USA

Australia is known in certain circles as "China South".

It is too late to change any of this.

Best of luck.

lol what. They will get here & realise that we're actually running out of water.

Does the world fail to realise that Australia is already over populated in the areas that are actually habitable? I suppose so. We're a fucking desert. Invade us please, I'd love to see millions of troops die of thirst & dehydration.

You assume far too much.

1. That Australia will continue to be populated over the long term with the current racial make-up.

2. That the nation will receive the help it has been promised from western nations.

It is all but assured that none of this will happen.

Don't get me wrong - I have absolutely no doubt that once SHTF, someone will make a grab for Australia. What I'm pointing out is that it's not going to be as easy as you're insinuating, or as others have explained in the past.

In case of an invasion, most of us who didn't grow up in a city know how to look after our selves in this country. It's hostile & unforgiving, & we know how to live off it. It doesn't involve riding kangaroos, & guerilla warfare will nto be out of the question. Yes we have guns, & yes, we know how to make explosive from house hold products. Ever made napalm before?
