As one of those "foreigners" that has lived in the US for over 10 years I must say..speeches such as the likes of yours OP, usually go in one ear and out the other because I have heard it over and over and over again.

Thing is I'm not even trying to be insulting. If you don't want to fail, good for you, but don't think every foreigner is laughing at you or calling you names or "hates" America or Americans. The fact is some of us, have quite a lot at stake as well.

Don't lump all foreigners in the same way, most of us are just trying to make a livin' like the next man and are going about our business like everyone else.

Actually, you kinda made op's point. Americans in Texas and many other states don't want to secede from America, but instead, the administration. After 911, Americans came together like I have never seen. Cars had flags flying on their cars, license plates changed to United We Stand, bumper stickers were added. Terrorists expected a completely different attitude from Americans.

The vast majority of Americans are "commoners", regardless of their political affiliation, and would stand firm together and a sleeping giant would awake. With the exception of the few evil crazies who enjoy their few minutes of fame and make it on the evening news, 95%+ gun owners own guns to defend themselves and their families. The majority of Americans are not racists, but are sick and tired of being called racists. The majority of Americans work their asses off to support their families and are frustrated our taxes are being raised to support those who abuse the system and live off us. Americans donate more money than any country, $300 billion from nonprofit orgs.

So before you belittle and judge Americans, come walk in the "commoners" shoes for awhile. It's a damn shame so many overseas believe the shit that is spewed by politicians and media. It's a damn shame that so many, even here, believe that all or even most conservatives want to keep their money and not help those in need. That's just bullshit. Democrats would like to have Americans believe that they will help us with government handouts....while conservatives could care less and would like to see Americans starve and suffer. When really we end up relying more and more on the government, until we become fully dependent on them. God forbid conservatives actually want Americans to rely less on government and insist on getting a good education, make ourselves more independent, and actually work for it, rather than demanding other people's money. Make note that I am referring to those who are mooching off this surreptitious system.

And anyone who says most are fat and lazy, well one, some of those people are the very ones who mooch and rely and believe in government dependence. Two, it stems from depression from the majority of Americans having to work their asses off to support the above mentioned.

Our biggest problem is short term memory. ;) We need to work on that.

Well nuff said op...my only thing being everyone wants to scream for revolution, when they have no idea what that entails. It would be pandimonium on a grand scale, something we have done our best to avoid by excersizing rights to petition, assemble and vote. However military industrial and finicial banking institution and many others invested in keeping this corrupt system up have ignored and downright refused to comply to the will of those this government is supposed to serve, There is obviously a problem of apathy, which is why I believe any rash action would be a mistake. This system has to pull the mask off first for the public to rally behind anything. Anything else will just help facilitate and provide excuses for increasing security. There is a serious faction war going on in the upper echelons of world government right now and the military tech and manpower of America is one of the major things being fought over, and to this effect the American people must have a say. And to those just blindly writing things, stereotyping wholes of people, I should hope you realize how condescending ,uneducated and just downright crotchedy you sound. By the way Canada and Australia the faction that has been helping you guys thrive is on their way out, and the crown's pretty much broke because lord's make for bad bookkeepers, even worse the congressmen it seems. Anyway try to play the game of chess off the board but not off the wall...once things start rolling they have a tendancy to snowball as history shows.

yeah, I figured your comment was going to go over the heads of many - any comment which involves a bit of thought usually gets over looked or taken way too literally around here.

Anywho, I don't really agree with whats happening to you Americans, though personally I wouldn't care much my self as I don't own or plan on owning fire arms. But I do think you need to act out more on this issue, rather than continually posting how bad ass it is to own weapons. A. No developed country approaches American giving. For example, in 1995 (the most recent year for which data are available), Americans gave, per capita, three and a half times as much to causes and charities as the French, seven times as much as the Germans, and 14 times as much as the Italians.

Similarly, in 1998, Americans were 15 percent more likely to volunteer their time than the Dutch, 21 percent more likely than the Swiss, and 32 percent more likely than the Germans.

These differences are not attributable to demographic characteristics such as education, income, age, sex, or marital status.

On the contrary, if we look at two people who are identical in all these ways except that one is European and the other American, the probability is still far lower that the European will volunteer than the American.
