It is unfortunate, but Canada has been slated for resource use by the United States. In certain circles it is known as "America North".
Australia has been promised to China. It is often misunderstood that China is in need of Australian raw materials (which is true to a certain extent), but the real value of such a vast underdeveloped and lightly populated land is its freshwater supply. Australia is known in certain circles as "China South".
It is too late to change any of this.

You assume far too much.
1. That Australia will continue to be populated over the long term with the current racial make-up.
2. That the nation will receive the help it has been promised from western nations.
It is all but assured that none of this will happen.
Don't get me wrong - I have absolutely no doubt that once SHTF, someone will make a grab for Australia. What I'm pointing out is that it's not going to be as easy as you're insinuating, or as others have explained in the past.
In case of an invasion, most of us who didn't grow up in a city know how to look after our selves in this country. It's hostile & unforgiving, & we know how to live off it. It doesn't involve riding kangaroos, & guerilla warfare will nto be out of the question. Yes we have guns, & yes, we know how to make explosive from house hold products. Ever made napalm before?
Factual points understood.
The downside of this is rather straightforward:
In a coordinated sneak attack, New Zealand will be invaded and occupied easily by China.
The total and complete annihilation of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Hamilton is the first move. With only these four cities vaporized, fully 50%+ of the population will be eliminated in one action.
Australia will be immediately looking at a two front war with its major cities plunged into nuclear fire. Like New Zealand, it will not take many weapons to reduce the population by 50% in a limited non-conventional attack.
Once this is accomplished, New Zealand will become the force projection base for China. In a best case scenario, New Zealand will have approximately 2.2 million people alive from the original population. China is easily able to supply more troops than the entire population of the country at that point in time.
Australia will become a no-fly zone with a naval blockade. A beach head is all but assured. With no navy, the complete destruction of the few major cities (10 would be more than enough), Australia will fall within weeks. No major armaments factories, no importation of military goods, no electricity, no fuel production/importation, and no industry.
This will be the final fate of a singular, proud, and respected people. Fortunately, it will not be in vain. Their sacrifice will smooth the way to the future of final survival, order, and world peace.
