But you are counting steps and not physical, observable objects. Steps don't exist.

who decided that mathematics must be limited to counting physical observable objects? many people use mathematics for things that aren't physical or aren't observable.

That's my point, since math is allowing people to create things that don't exist, it is flawed.

Money is allowed to be created that does not exist for instance.

Who knows what in the universe is being regarded as truth where it might not exist.

Now you need to do the opposite, -5.

Do you turn around and take five steps forward to do the OPPOSITE of +5, leaving you facing an entirely different direction, or do you BACK UP FIVE STEPS. Negating what you just did.

'Math' is an imaginary activity that takes place inside the conceptual world, the fact is that your whole life takes place inside your mind.

It is a world with it's own rules and (non spatial) dimensions and exists whether the physical world exists or not.


It can be used to model certain aspect of the physical world, such as the presence or absence of apples, how fast they fall under gravity etc. But it is always entirely separate from the physical world - an image of an apple in your mind is not and never will be a physical apple.
