JUST-IN REPORT: Israel operating in Syria, US preparing to join

On Sunday, the Jordan-based leader of one of the Syrian rebel groups said that after toppling Assad, Syria's new rulers will turn their guns on Israel.

"We tell Benjamin Netanyahu...get ready. The army of the Prophet Mohammad is coming your way," declared Abed Shihadeh, who added that after "taking Damascus" his group and its allies will "head for Tel Aviv."

These are the same groups that, as they fight against Assad, are also threatening and persecuting local Christians.

For instance, this week a rebel group posted a video on the Internet warning the Christian towns of Mharda and Sqilbiya to stop permitting Syrian government forces to take up positions there (as if they have a choice) or face a merciless rebel attack.

Egyptian television recently aired an address by one Syrian rebel leader, Ahmad Al Baghdadi Al Hassani, who warned that Syria's Christians are "friends of the Zionists" and must choose between "Islam and death."

well as far as the journlists that put that report out, it's rather irresponsible to say the least. Got to careful with what info get's put out there, don't want to inadvertanly escalate an already tense situation.

It puts lives at an unnecessary risk.

You can be sure that if the press got word of this it's only because THEY wanted them to !

I try to take that into account as well, but you know as well as I do how much some media have it out for the US and Israel for that matter and would have no qualms about compromising their operations

The thing is, unless you tell a journalist specifically not to report something on pain of prosecution you should assume they'll report it.

when was the last time a journalist was actually prosecuted for such an act? I can't remember one can you? Problem with them is that there is no accountability on their part, right or wrong they just do whatever they want.

If nukes weren't an issue, USA / NATO / Israel would mop the floor with Russia and China...

Even the US by itself without any help would have more than enough fire power to cripple Russia and China, the only thing keeping the balance of power is the assured mutual destruction that nukes give !

An uncle tip i got 2 days ago says that we should expect major escalation and dramatic events in Syria after January 7. Israeli special ops have been operating inside Syria for months now btw, but have your eyes from now on in Israel-Lebanon affairs coz Lebanon just announced offshore oil/gas exploration and a dispute with Israel exists for years now for a big part of the sea borders between the two countries. Same uncle says Lebanon will be hit by Israel till March.
