OMG it's amazing the stuff people will do to 'detox'.....

as for apples, I love'em, but arent they LOADED with pesticides? unless, of course, you can get organic without the sprays.

I used magnesium tablets..and they did the job very well..........I started out very slowly, with 1, 3 x a day, then in 2 days 2, 3 x a day, and then 3, 3 x a day, and so on, until I started getting good results.......

Evidently the 3, 3 x a day was what my body responded to......

I also use Target's version of Benefiber......2 tablespoons 3 x a day.......works wonders.........but by itself; I stopped the magnesium tablets.......

sometimes I do 3 teabanana2spoons, 1 or 2 x a day.

and let's not forget, folks,,,,,,,,,you DO have to try at least to eat more FRESH fruits and vegetables.

Remember, fruits are the cleansers of our body, and vegetables are the builders!!!!!!

so happy detoxin' to y'all!!!

Why are you detoxing? Are you ready for a detox? Have you cleaned the barnacles off your hull yet with good diet, exercise, meditation, etc? Or, are you trying to rip the barnacles off your hull, taking pieces of the ship off with it?

Do you see the point?

Address lifestyle change first. Then address detox. Add medicinal mushrooms, healthy clay, lots of water, and stop eating shit every day of your life.yoda

OP, don't get too caught up in complicated formulas; some of the simplest are also the best imo.

Personally I take two weeks off from eating and drink lots of water. And occasionally I'll go all out and follow that up with a psillium colon cleanse and an herbal kidney and liver detox. You'll feel like brand new!

My ex used to do a 'brown rice diet'. All the rice you can eat and lots of water. (Some versions include raw veggies, but she never did.) Has to be BROWN rice, tho; the white is devoid of nutrients. What's good about this is that you don't have to go hungry, and the rice has enough nutrients that you could do it virtually forever.

Re: I know a lot of you are health nuts, any good detox plans out there?
I made a radical change to my diet. I eliminated hydrogenated oils, all processed foods, got the flouride out of my drinking water and most importantly sought a homeopathic doctor and started Chelation therapy which removes all heavy metals from your body. I can't say enough about Chelation Therapy. It is not approved by the AMA nor insurance companies for only one reason. It works.
 Quoting: Cindy 29557487

I was going to mention this. There is an over the counter chelation therapy that came out last year. The FDA approved it. Readily available on e-bay.

Also, coffee enimas remove a large ammount of toxins from the liver.

Black walnut husk removes any parasites (flukes) that may be in your system. Dr Hulda Clark is a good resource.

Afternoon check in. So far I am not even close to wanting food. Lots of water, tumeric tea, that's about it for now. I'll juice later if I want calories.

If you need inspiration and have streaming Netflix, they have a TON of food, obesity, and diet related documentaries. Check it out.

Best detox plan would be a water fast (non fluoridated is best). But its a difficult one. You can replace with juice.

Simply doing 100% raw food will aid in detoxing, weight loss, and looking younger and fantastic.

Will make you go to the toilet more in the beginning while your body gets used to it. You may start to get strong detox symptoms after 3 days or so - so may be easier on your body to ease into 100% raw over a couple of weeks first.

Re: I know a lot of you are health nuts, any good detox plans out there?
worlds best detox. If use please post results.

Hemp oil = baance out your system to normal fat ratio and helps absorbe vitamins A, D, E, K

then juice vegetables = get nutrients to repair your system instead of sending it into death starve mode.

This is much more efficicient and healthy than a normal juice fast of something useless like lemon juice.

Re: I know a lot of you are health nuts, any good detox plans out there?
I was going to wait until New Years day to start my fast, but what the hell, i'll start tomorrow.

I do have 1 question though. I did a 5 day juice fast last year, and did great until day 4 when I got very, very sick (whole body chills/aches, mild fever, sore throat, etc.) and didn't even want to take any liquids. By the morning of day 5 I was so weak, I caved into my husbands demands that I eat something and had some toast, then a salad, and then felt much better. So was the sickness the actual "detoxing" and I should have just waited it out, or did I just happen to get sick while doing the fast?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5240732

I had the same problem when I eliminated all bread from my diet. Thumping headaches that got so bad my husband insisted I ate a slice of toast and almost instantly the headache went and I began to feel better.

Re: I know a lot of you are health nuts, any good detox plans out there?
Fresh squeezed lemon in a glass of warm water first thing in the morning is great for detoxing the liver. The sour flavor is related to the liver and liver health. This can also dissolve gallstones over the course of weeks or months.

In general though, the body will naturally detox itself when it is in balance. If it is not in balance, it will not want to eliminate toxins. Going to extremes like eating bad foods and then going through extreme detox like juicing is not good for the body, and it doesn't work too well. Part of the reason juicing helps detox is because it "cools" the body. Just like water fasting cools the body. Eating fruits and vegetables has a cooling effect on the body. Eating meat, spicy foods, oils and fats, and foods cooked at high temperatures has a warming effect on the body. Grains are neutral. Overeating in general is also warming, and under eating is cooling. Now you can see why juicing or fasting helps detox.

If you eat lots of processed foods and chemicals, your body will obviously be more "toxic." Also, if you have excess heat in your body, you will hold on to toxins. Having excess cold is no better, because you will have other problems, such as lack of strength, loss of bone density, lack of energy, etc.

There's two extremes. Raw vegans, for example, are one extreme. They will eventually suffer muscle wasting, tooth decay, anemia, weakened spleen evidenced by a distended belly, etc. Then look at bodybuilders who eat lots of warm, building foods. They are big and strong with a good strong metabolism and lots of energy, but they are full of toxins, have excess heat and dampness as evidenced by greasy hair and skin, excess body odor, a congested liver and gallbladder caused by over consumption, etc.

Don't keep switching back and forth from the two extremes. Find the middle ground, where your body is in balance, and you won't need to detox, because every second, whether you're eating, walking, or sleeping, you will be "detoxing."
You will also have a strong "metabolism" as we say, which is just your body's ability to turn energy into food.

Don't eat anything processed. Eat lots of freshly cooked grains, with cooked vegetables and small amounts of meat. Don't cook meat for hours or at high temperature. Saute, braise, or stew. Don't eat too much dairy. It's very dampening. Well aged good quality cheese is ok, as is real yogurt. Don't eat sugar unless its fresh fruit. Don't eat or drink anything cold. It puts out your digestive fire; your "metabolism" as you would say. Don't overly spice your food. Let your tastebuds see what food really tastes like. Did you know beef is sweet? Eat simple foods, and after a few weeks, beef will taste sweet to you. Celery will taste bitter. Avocado will taste sour. When you can really enjoy the flavor of plain grassfed sauteed sandwich steak over a bowl of white rice, then you are in balance, and your body will detoxify on its own.

Make sure to eat organic apples. You don't want to put more toxins inside your body while doing detox. Apples, peaches, strawberries, celery and carrots contain the most pesticides. Fat free or 1% butter-milk works like priobiotic and is great with apples for the detox.

Re: I know a lot of you are health nuts, any good detox plans out there?
I believe the most effective fast is the one that is strictly water, mostly distilled water of course. This helps specifically with ridding the body of toxins and shows the fastest detox/ recovery times, it's also the most intense. I suggest this one as it takes the least amount of time to do some serious detox work on your body. The only question is if you can handle the "strictly water" aspect. I've done it atleast 4 times. I reccomend to start with 48 hour, then do 72, up to 96 maximum. It's the best and most efficient detox there is. You can do it easily it by just drinking water every time you're hungry and being in a relaxed environment. It's all in the mind, willpower my friends. The human body can easily handle it as well, it's meant to do so.... research it! I can attest to the fact that it works, as I was having some health problems with my eyes that caused me serious concern and...viola, when i was done with my fast my symptoms vanished, literally, something no doctor visit could diagnose or fix. I PROMISE.

Well as five o'clock was approaching, I started thinking about food again. It didn't help that a friend of mine offered my favorite chinese takeout, a mere few hours after I informed him I was starting a fast. I will avoid that sabotage!

So, I've juiced oranges, pineapple, and whipped it into a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, and a pear. With added vitamic C powder.

I think I will make it through the first day. It's not a puritan water fast, but it's better than caving in to takeout.
