that chart is soo inaccurate it isnt even funny. California has to have the highest std rate in the country. there is no fucking way states like north carolina has a higher rate then California....

Awareness drove down the STD Epidemic of the late 1970's early 1980's. While most of the other states were hard at work preaching abstinence, California took a more realistic approach. Awareness and teaching people to use protection had a net impact not only on STDS but on unwanted pregnancies. Per Capital California has the lowest unwanted pregnancies and abortions than many of the states. Understand we have over 10% of the US population here, 31 million. So if you look at just number infected it looks large, in reality it is small compared to the over all population.
