Read up on the true history of LSD, research done in the late 50s and early 60s particularly in eastern europe after it was publicly banned in the u.s.

In the Journal of Psychopharmacology, they reported that more than 83% of several PTSD patients treated with MDMA and therapy had completely recovered, “without evidence of harm.” A follow-up study published last month found that the patients still had virtually no symptoms two years later.

I remember MDMA being used in therapy in 1986. I've not experienced it myself, have had other types of non chemical mind expansion,
but what about findings of holes in the brain developing early on in use.
Were MDMA a natural product of earth's pharma I'd be more inclined to be more willing to try it.
But it is a synthetic created in a lab and that for sure I don't trust.

the reason why that stuff was banned was because you can make more money off a sick person that you can actually healing them

This basically is how "healthcare" works

But isn't the truth of what you're saying making another assumption about unexplored side effects.
I'm no troll I am asking for the whole picture which shouldn't be a problem.

You know, MDMA bringing great relief of suffering through the psychologically unifying experience of love (good) but not acknowledging that same person might need a walker by the time they're 35.
It's still a synthetic.

Now this other African plant (I forget the name) used for addiction with great success can kill a certain small percentage with a heart attack because they are weakened, but still very promising and effective for those who can't find their way out of life/organ destruction of addictions of all kinds.
There definitely ought not be a ban on a thoroughly proven method, which MDMA is not.

Mr. Feldmár adds that there’s no evidence that ecstasy is even addictive. “Some people consider it a sacrament,” he said.

“You ask, ‘Can you get addicted to it?’ Do Catholics get addicted to the sacrament?

“One can get devoted, but that’s not an addiction.”

No doubt. What happens when conditioning/reaction to life reasserts itself.
Do you have regular MDMA sessions, say once a year?

I suspect this stuff is wonderfully transcendant and that anything that takes people out of limited perceptions is a necessity to prevent insanity dealing with our world. Relationships are more difficult than ever. What about the rest of it though, physical long term effects.

Re: 'It opens your heart': Canada approves use of ecstasy in study into post-traumatic stress disorder
I think that using a drug in a therapeutic setting is pretty clearly not recreational and is unlikely to lead to heavy recreational use, especially in a context like this.

Secondly, when you buy Ecstasy, it's always cut with a LOT of amphetamines making it a better party drug.

MDMA on its own is VERY calm, almost sleepy sometimes. I can definitely see that it could be useful in a situation like this and doesn't really raise your heart rate, etc. Long term use (read: abuse) could probably be harmful, but using it one time in a controlled setting makes damaging yourself highly unlikely.

The us has tested e on returning vets and rape victims for PTSD. The tests were of course successful. For more see MAPS: Multidisciplinary association of psychedelic studies, who do research around the world, including Israel, us, eu, etc.

I don't think it's an addiction as such were it used as a tool that many very old cultures have integrated into a sense of the sacred. So people don't use 'sacred' substances just for a hit of endorphins..(MDMA floods receptors with endorphins)..withholding judgement here just as death experience is more than brain chemicals giving you the ultimate 'wow'. And even if it is maybe nature is ultimately kind.
Yet even Mescale will get pissed at anyone using mescaline for entertainment absent the respectful elder-guided special occasion it is.
Generations coming up need assisted transcendance however they can integrate it.
Once there were shamans, now there is a split going on in everything. Shamans would be doctors, now doctors obey unproven pharma and want to dis-integrate everything comprising life with alchohol handwash and a tissue.

Somebody tell me a shaman cooked up love potion #9 in his bathroom sink I would trust it more than synthetic pharma.

Ugh.

Agreed...used it back in the 80s when it was legal...actually purchased it at bars instead of alcohol! Sure helped me and the roommates get along easier :) I loved it but never used it after it became illegal because I couldn't be sure what I was getting.

Consider the alternative:

[link to www.armytimes.com]

According to a Veterans Affairs report this spring, a veteran commits suicide every 80 minutes. More than 6,500 suicides have occurred since the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan began. For every service member who dies in battle, 25 veterans die by their own hands.

According to a Pentagon report, more American active service members have killed themselves in the first six months of 2012 than in the first six months of any of the previous 11 years, The Associated Press reported.

The report reveals 154 service members killed themselves in the first 155 days of 2012 alone. The number of deaths by suicide is 50 percent higher than combat deaths in Afghanistan during the same period and an 18 percent increase over active service member suicides in the first six months of 2011.

End prohibition, save our veterans!
