IIRC, the 'Holes in the brain' drug legend refers to NAN toxicity and thus Olney's lesions which can happen easily when MDMA is foolishly mixed with other Serotonergic drugs.

Large doses of DXM alone can cause lesions in rats with no other compounded drug.

I am of the opinion that large enough doses of DXM along with a CYP450 inhibitor (like anti-histamine found in combination with DXM in Coricidin) can result in the DXM -> DXO pathway being drastically slowed down, and thus vast quantities of unmetabolized DXM coursing around for days.

I personally know three different individuals who suffer from a range of sporadic to weekly non-epileptic parietal and grand-mall seizures that started within a year after a 48+ hour Coricidin trip.

DXM is not harmful. But if someone decides to be an idiot and take Coricidin Cough and Cold, they are not just ingesting DXM. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is the harmful ingredient. A little research shows that.

What are you talking about? MDMA is E.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29693905

No MDMA is pure that comes in brown crystal in a capsule. E is a pill with a little MDMA or MDA and a bunch of junk like speed and filler in it.

Ok, are you just splitting hairs, or confused? The term E or ecstasy is just a catch all slang phrase for anything that contain MDMA. It can be a pill, tablet, capsule, powder (also called molly), etc. An E pill would act as a carrier for the MDMA to your body, like a marijuana plant acts as a carrier for THC. If you have a pill that contains anything other than MDMA and binders, it's not E. You got ripped off. Checkout dancesafe.org and look at all the lab test results for all the E pills being sold on the street. Those lab results exist solely to sort out the fake MDMA E pills from the real ones.

lol you screwed up on the quotes. and you're wrong. On the streets if you ask for E you'll get a pill with some MDMA or MDA with a bunch of fillers and some cheap speed or acid. Hence why their are brand names for E.

If you ask for MDMA you'll get MDMA in a capsule.

This is why education is important. You don't even know what E is supposed to be.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

When MDMA started showing up in dance clubs and raves, people started giving it names. E, X, ecstasy, XTC, Adam, etc. Why do you think they called it E or ecstasy? Because that's the effect MDMA has.

Selling ecstasy is highly profitable, therefore people found ways to tap into that market by making their own knockoff pills containing a mixture of different cheaper drugs, ranging from caffeine to dxm. These knockoffs were sold as ecstasy, E, XTC, etc, and that's where you missed the boat.

So, if you're on the streets and you ask for E, but you get speed or caffeine or some other mixture, you are getting ripped off. End of story.

I'm from the ones that believe that mdma can have a great and very positive impact on therapy and other psychological disorders and not only on them. Frequent use or should i say overuse can cause some issues though tbh.
Way to go Canada.

Although you are right this doesn't apply to todays market in Canada. When people think E now it means triple stack or double stack with images on them that have speed or Acid added to them.

In Canada if you ask for E you're not going to get pure MDMA. You have to ask for MDMA specifically if you want pure.

If you go to a dealer and ask for E itll be a double stack or tripple stack pill with an image as a brand which will have stuff added to represent that brand such as MDMA, MDA, Speed, Acid, Caffeine, Color dye, bleach etc.

If you go ask a dealer for MDMA you'll get a capsule with brownish crystals or the crystals in a baggie.

2nd this

First time I used E I got the very pure stuff. A tremendously calm, loving, opening experience, with no crash afterwards. The next day I had the most wonderful "afterglow" and felt that everything was completely right with the world.

Subsequent times (not that many, 3 or 4) were mixed, b/c I'm sure the E I took was mixed. In fact I once had a seriously bad trip on E -- vomiting, hallucinations, being physically disassociated from my body in a very frightening way -- none of which happened the first time. For that reason I steer clear of it now.

I don't see how pure MDMA, uncut with speed and all the other shit, can be any worse than things like Zoloft or Prozac. For one thing, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't make anyone want to kill themselves or cause obsessive death thoughts (which Wellbutrin did to me). Like any drug, synthetic or otherwise, of course it shouldn't be overused and I'm sure it could be psychologically if not physically addictive as it sure makes you feel wonderful.

But for people who are in trauma or serious depression I think it could have great potential if used correctly.

Here's something to ponder if you're a habitual illegal drug user -- TPTB WANT these horror stories. They want people to have seizures and die. They want to be able to plaster that all over the news. I bet it really chaps their hides that marijuana doesn't actually kill people.

So don't give them fodder. Use responsibly and know your sources.

Great post. It really can't be worse than prozac and the other crazy-pills, definitely worth a shot coz it generally gets the best out of people, especially now that i think we reaching a point where a part of the society sees that there is something wrong in the prozac path we're going, big pharma won't like it, they love them horror stories. Off course this is a chemical substance too, most of the times aluminum amalgam is used as a basic ingredient in it's preparation, this can't be good, responsible and not frequent use cannot be recommended enough.
