Is this happening in other places besides TX? I don't believe the BS excuse given, but if this is bigger than just one utility then where else is it happening?
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Good question! Seems it's not confined to Texas...just a quick google search revealed power pole fire reports from Leesburg, Virginia; Altus, Oklahoma and Canton, Ohio. None of them involved as many poles as Texas, though...

“A lot of people are going to have things break and they’re not going to know why,”

So, we have what appears to be an untested, for the hell of it, “experimental” major change to the US electrical grid coming in a few weeks and those in charge aren’t really sure how it will work or if it may break something?

Not only is this what a LAB is for, but it is also something that the Federal Government should be TELLING people about in advance, and not in an AP “exclusive” press release.

My microwave hasnt died yet but for the past 2 weeks been acting strange as hell,4-5 times just nukin coffee/soup etc the damn thing goes into fits with its own lightning strikes inside the thing.

my washing machine did go out over a week ago,lid switch fried out,one of my digital clocks died and 3 days ago my truck battery was fried while still in truck.

Damn battery was, had shit coming out around the post so hubby took it in(auto zone)guy tested it and said it looks just like many other batteries folks been bringin in over the past 2 weeks. TOTAL FRY JOB!

Hubbys friend in oklahoma told him last-night he had the same problem on 2 of his cars(total fry on the batteries as well).

My battery was only 1 year old so still under warranty,im near the Dallas area in Texas.

Its Total Bullshit. Its always dusty in Texas. It rains in Texas.

This is linked to the Sinkhole. It may not appear that way but it is.

I know some people around here don't like the Pole Shift Ning Site but you should go read an article posted about all this and the DAILY LANDSLIDES happening in the Pacific Northwest closing the rail lines between Everett and Seattle areas. BC Border/Washington State area's.

Things are getting wierd.

Go do yourselfs a favor and read the posts. You really need too. There is alot of really good information on the Fires on the Poles and the Slides occuring Daily.

Yeah, not buying it either. I live in the Austin area & it's been hot & dry for the better part of 2 1/2 years, yet this only starts happening in the last 3-4 weeks & ONLY in Central Texas?! Nah, not buying it! spock putin

It hertz when you do that – power grid to stop regulating 60 Hz frequency
Posted on June 25, 2011 by Anthony Watts

“Experiment” on the US power grid will change the way some clocks and other equipment function.

A 60 hertz sine wave, over one cycle (360°). The dashed line represents the root mean square (RMS) value at about 0.707 Image: Wikipedia

Story submitted by Joe Ryan

The AP has released an “exclusive” story concerning the nationwide “experiment” that will be conducted on the US power grid. The experiment will relieve the power providers from the duty of regulating the frequency of power on the line.

Normally the power stations condition their power to a frequency of 60 cycles a second, a frequency that many old clocks use to maintain their time. With the new standard, or lack of standard, these clocks will stop keeping time properly.

But the problem is more than that.

This is Bullshit too. Its a SET UP to help explain things away. Don't believe a word of this. Its Crap. Crap to confuse people to whats really going on and an excuse for when shit happens to keep you from finding out the truth.

Anybody pushing this excuse you need to beware of. Period.
They just don't fool around with the grid this way. They don't. If they are saying the experiment starts in a couple of three weeks then look to the sky. Somthing else is causing this. Probably the Sun and the Magnetic Ribbon.

Its such a "Regular Event",

1. Aspluhnd prepositions its tree trimming trucks before a storm

2. Power companies pre-deploy the repair trucks for incoming storms

3. Storm Chaser hunt storms in Texas year round

4. Texas Twister = Tornado

5. Tonado Alley = Texas

I could go on and on, but Houston to Abileen is the Storm Belt

Non-Event move along....

Hmmmm....a little research unveiled this power pole fire incident in South Texas back in November:

Posted: Friday, November 16, 2012 8:25 am

McALLEN — More than 18,000 Rio Grande Valley residents lost power Friday after utility poles caught fire.

Mist that rolled across the Valley early Friday morning dampened dirt and dust clinging to utility equipment, said AEP Community Affairs Manager Lee Jones. Insulation units on the utility poles began conducting electricity, thanks to the unusual combination of wind-blown dust and moisture, and caught fire.
Jones said he didn’t know how many poles caught fire and wasn’t aware of any other problems related to the widespread outages.

Beware the mist. Its full of petro chemicals carried on the wind from the sinkhole. Food for thought.

Do you also realize the RIP in the Magnetoshere runs from Greenland across Canada Ontario and then across the states to the East Coast. Get out a map and draw a line. What do you see...!

I guess they mUst have missed a spot: chemtrail fail.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31064652

Meaning the chemtrails are a factor in the power pole fires?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14516845

Yes, sort of. There's a theory that's been kicked around here on GLP that the chemtrails are to protect the earth from what the sun (or other object) is throwing at us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31080335

Chemtrails are small reflective particles designed to reflect solar radiation and therefor cool the earth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9113640

Yes, I was actually relieved for once, to think that some nefarious hidden agenda that 'they' have been denying for 20+ years was actually for our own good....

I've been hearing other theories lately that the chemtrailing is to help with the holographic sky AND/or increase the radiation (some nefarious reason makes more sense, IMO, given the nature of the deceit/denial), just sayin.......

Re: 50 Power Poles Explode (again) in Texas Hill Country
Turns out power poles are going up in Australia, too!

About 22,000 customers lost power in Geelong and the surrounding coastal area and as far inland as Colac.

Some had power restored within an hour but at 11am 11,000 homes were still blacked out. They were not expected to be back on line until mid-afternoon.

Ms Tate said three crews and all other available resources were being used to reconnect homes.

'We've had very hot weather last week followed by drizzle that creates ideal conditions for those fires to occur.

'You get a build-up of salt from the combination of sea mist or light rain, which creates conditions for electricity to be conducted - and all that needs is a heat build-up,' Ms Tate said.

Although pole fires were not uncommon in coastal areas it was fairly unusual for such a wide area to be affected, she said.

She said Powercor tried to guard against the problem by installing steel arms on poles or by the installation of washing devices.

Dust is conductive. Some more than others.

First it tracks across the insulator, then it arcs, then a good solid carbon path is formed, and there is enough current to etch permanently into the insulator.

Then you have a kaboom, and maybe it clears, maybe it doesn't.

Proper maintenance helps, but what do I know.

this is what happens when you have dirt on the insulators or oil from the air. If it's dry outside nothing will happen. But in the morning when the dew comes the dirt and the water will have the insulators leaking. Then you'll have pole on fire.the reclose or or fumes will not see the arcing of the insulators. because it's too low of amps. That's why the poles Fire

In the 70s I used to climb the towers and the clean the insulators in San Francisco Bay Bay Area . We would start around May and end up September all summer long. now the use helicopters with watching rigs the clean them.

Something came to mind when I read this seeings as how this keeps happening in Texas, remember a couple months back there was talk of altering the HZ of the energy grid to allow for fluctuations originating from alternative power supplies being plugged in and not so easily meshed with the existing systems.

Well thats probably confusing
 Quoting: Omniscient1

Not confusing at all. Worthy idea for consideration.

Folks out in Texas should tell us what is going on in hill country. Remember a few years back when the Oasis burned to the ground. This was a bar/restaurant in the hill country outside of Austin and had been there a long time. Was successful and I wonder if it was rebuilt.

Is this burning pole phenomena happening near the area of the old Oasis?

Re: 50 Power Poles Explode (again) in Texas Hill Country
I don't usually post but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I work on high voltage power lines for a living. I've done it for 15 years. I've worked with electricity for 30 years. There is absolutely nothing unusual about poles catching fire like that. Now 50 in one night is a lot. I've never seen that many in one night, but it does happen. Anytime you have dust in the air, whether you're in the desert or next to a roadway that has been salted after a snowstorm and the salt has dried, that dust gets swirled in the air and coats the insulators. The dust can harmlessly sit there for a long time until it rains. If the rain is a nice solid downpour then most times nothing will happen. If the rain is a light mist then the insulators will track over and the pole can catch fire. Usually it starts at the point where a grounded piece of equipment is attached to the pole with a steel bolt. I love a good conspiracy as much as the next guy but this is just a normal occurrence. And before anyone throws it out there I'm not a shill. I'm just a guy whose life revolves around electricity and wanted to share my experience.
