Re: No ammo.....?
Picked up 500rds. of rem. 45ACP at Academy sports yesterday
for $189, they had 1 case of 500 left. They said they were
getting another shippment of ammo in this morning.
This is in Jacksonville, Fl.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1210737

If they limit magazine capacity to 10 or less, many will switch from 9 to 45.

I think 45 at walmart was $20 a box of 50. I've still got half a case that I paid less than $8 a box for ages ago.

That purchase of 500rds was my first in about a year. My
last one before that was for about 8 bucks a box. Right now,
I'm sitting on 3400rds 45acp.

I little off topic (sorry OP)

Would some of you like to own this? ....LOL

I own, built and run since 2004 a Waterfowl Hunting Message Board for waterfowl hunters in the North East US

This short video was produced for a upcoming TV show back in 2006 30 miles from my house in southern NJ

The video shows a few of my message board friends firing a 13' shotgun (punt gun)

Ha! I'd never seen one up close so I was instantly enamored. I stood there and just stared at it until we left. Although I love semiautomatic (and fully auto!) rifles, I am thinking of buying a handgun or revolver for self-defense (I'm in TX). I think pink guns are cute and all but I don't want a cute weapon - I like tactical black and silver/black combo better. I don't hunt. If a woman has to utilize a firearm, 99% of the times will be to defend her life, so if I ever have to use it, it will be to drop someone, not because it looks cute in my tiny hands. It has to be the right fit for my small hands, and not impossible for me to shoot as I have arthritis but my fear is always that it may accidental discharge so I'm also trying to learn a little more before making a decision. I think I like revolvers, S&W has some nice ones, but very expensive. I like their model 460v revolver very much.

It won't be long before.......

All reloading equipment will be registered.....

Collecting used brass will become a crime......

Limits on the amount of loads/primers purchased.....

You can finish the list because it will be a long one.

Re: No ammo.....?
Started buying my ammo about 12 yrs ago, back when you could
get a 1000rds of 223 for about $100 bucks, and 7.62x39 for
$89 bucks for a 1000rds. Box of 30/30 was about $7 for 20rds., 308's were about 5 dollars for 20rds before they became real popular, and back then I could afford to buy
many cases of each caliber for the guns I now have. If I
started to stock up now on the ammo, I couldn't afford
1/5 of what I now have, and I have a LOT of ammo. Just
saying.

I LOVE revolvers, nothing wrong at all with a nice compact 357 wheelgun that can also fire 38 special ammunition. A revolver lets you defend yourself, then move on and not leave any shell casings behind ( when you think about it, revolvers should be on the attack map of the liberals because of that shouldn't they? Leaves no evidence behind! Terrorist ghost guns! lol )

So I went to a gun show today in forest park looking for an extra mag and I found one but the price was doubled of what it said on the tag.. Guy says prices are going up on mags and ammo because of the govt and I better get it now while I can.. Needless to say I did and I'm happy with my decision at this point

That S&W 460 will break your arm in about 460 places lol

With that said, an older model 19 or 66 .357 magnum is nice. Regardless of which S&W you chose stay away from any of them that have an internal lock.
