DAVID Cameron defended Britain’s colossal £11billion foreign aid bill yesterday as he came under renewed pressure to curb government spending on international development. The Prime Minister said despite the financial pressures faced by millions of Britons, the UK has a “moral obligation” to help the world’s poor. Mr Cameron has faced fierce criticism from his own party for the Coalition’s commitment to spending 0.7 per cent of GDP on aid. As a result, development spending will soar next year from £8.7billion to £11.3billion. But he said: “Britain is an incredibly generous country. The argument of the heart is that even when things are difficult at home we should fulfil our moral obligations to the poorest of the world. We've got people losing their jobs, losing their homes, but we have a "moral duty" to give away billions to third world countries. It's not as if we're not keeping millions of them anyway in our own country. Quoting: Tess2012 Moral Obligations..What bullshit, It's the same thing here in the USA. We would have rampant employment due to new jobs if they just reinvested into our country and not everyone else..
