The strong man armed keeps his palace in their souls
Miserable is the case of those who are willing slaves to sin and Satan, in whose souls he keeps his palace.

"He deceives the whole world."

He delights to deceive, and he will do so on any point — but especially in reference to spiritual things.

An unredeemed sinner can be deceived into thinking that because he is morally honest and a good-natured person, that he is on good terms with God.

He will surround himself with the things of this world, and may have more than his heart could wish for.

Being in easy circumstances, though an utter stranger to God, he'll conclude he is really happy.

But is he?

He'll believe he is at peace with himself, but it is not the same peace that comes from God--it's not that peace of conscience that passeth all understanding--the unredeemed sinner's peace is merely external, ungrounded confidence arising from, either, a want of thought or else, from wrong notions of God Himself.

21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace.

22 But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted,
and divides his spoils.
(Luke 11:21-22)

Satan makes his home in the heart of the unredeemed.

He is compared to a strong man in that he is exceeding powerful, because of his natural strength as an angel.

Consider the names given him in scripture, such as the prince of the power of the air, the god of this world, and a roaring lion.

He is also called the dragon, that old serpent, and the like.
All which plainly imply that, even after his fall, he still retains abundance of strength.

You can see then, he may justly be compared to a strong man.

He is said to be a strong man armed.

He is armed with malice, thus, as a roaring lion he roams about seeking whom he may devour.

He is experienced, each day he does his destructive work, he gains more knowledge in how to keep his palace, or the soul of the sinner from every thing that is truly good.

21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace.

22 But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted,
and divides his spoils.
(Luke 11:21-22)

Jesus is stronger than the strong man armed.

Christ comes upon him and overcomes him
, by pouring out his own soul unto death, and making it an offering for our sins.

And as the result of this, He robs Satan of all his armor, as the above scripture says-he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted.

Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, is Stronger than Satan, the roaring lion who walks about seeking whom he may devour.

Jesus is mighty to save.

Look to Christ for strength to enable you to escape for your lives, to flee from the slavery of sin and Satan,
into the glorious liberty of the children of God !

Pray, that is, pray earnestly for the Spirit of God to lead you to Christ, He'll dethrone
Satan and make you free--if the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7

Jesus came to free us from the greatest danger of all – the corrupting force of evil which destroys us from within and makes us slaves to sin and Satan.

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. (John 8:34)

Evil is not an impersonal force that just happens.

(D)evil has a name and a face and it seeks to master every heart and soul on the face of the earth.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

The strong man armed will always keep us in a daily battle.

Well, I was reading in scripture today about Jesus casting out a demon.

It was evident that it truly happened, and while it astonished some observers, the envious and malicious ones thought it was done by the power of the devil.

Do you recall that verse--"And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to ruin;
and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?"

That's how I was eventually brought to the verse about the "strong man". Found it very meaty.

1 John 3:8

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

The Prince of the power of the air is armed--he is never without weapons.

His principal weapon is the lie.

The sword of the evil spirit is the lie, but the sword of God’s Spirit is the Truth.

Yes, i believe the enemy has wrestled away blessings God sends to many people. He targets the weak and steals from them. Then, some of the weak will complain against God for their 'difficult' life. It is a diabolical plan where things get worse and worse for unbelievers and weak christians. That is why we need to arm ourselves against the ememy.
