The laws and stuff you may be trying to run from are there in other places, and often worse. Its just that Americans complain far much more and have a greater sense of entitlement than the rest of the world. You will also find that most non-Americans can't even stand being around an American, the idea itself makes their skin crawl. Anonymous Coward User ID: 27352798 United States 12/30/2012 01:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The trick is to go visit another country now. Find Americans who frequently visit the country, meet them, and get them to introduce you to people in that country. Then go visit that country and meet people first hand. Quoting: Zedakah (Hint: your two best bets are missionaries and scientists - they have many contacts who are typically hospitable.) Escaping is the easy part. Having a place to go is the hard part. Very practical suggestions! |

Also, it gives you a place to go where you can live and work without having to jump through a slew of expensive immigration hoops. A number of Americans qualify for a second citizenship based on their ancestry, and they don't even realize it. Check into it. |

I would provide a link, but the article is on a site that recently changed to require folks to buy a subscription to read it. |

Twenty years ago everyone loved Americans..It's not that way anymore. You might want to check out the Philippines. It's inexpensive to live and they still like Americans there. Stay away from Mindanao, too dangerous. Check out Palau, Saipan, Chuuk or some other little Pacific Island. Look into Bali too... the people are mostly Hindu not Muslim. Just remember, anywhere you go, you will need a work visa and they are not easy to come by. If you don't need to work..then I say, head to an island and enjoy life. Otherwise, stay here and enjoy the show. |

I think that starts jan 1st. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28870983 This is correct. If you purchase land/homes outside of the US, many places will request US cash. They will also give hints on how to bring large amounts of cash out in briefcases or "other ways." |

We live within the heart of the Beast...where else greater than the core of the body, to effect the greatest change. Personally, I am absolutely grateful to have been when and where I was...the only others are the founding fathers, who could have been blessed with such fortuitous circumstances. |

A lot of people vote with their feet. There's nothing wrong with it. Also, if it were treasonous, it would be illegal, and it is not... at least not yet. Seriously, you sound like someone from the former Soviet Union. Why don't you just call him a "defector" and be done with it? |

It's possible that you may qualify for a second citizenship based on your ancestry. e.g. If you have an Irish grandparent, you qualify for Irish citizenship (and that's only one example of many). I should get it really, would be able to live in any EU country I want... I just don't bother because I have no reason nor desire to live anywhere else besides the great United States of America. |

I'm glad to hear that not all airports have them. I cannot imagine the degradation of having to go through something like that. Of course, even if you can get out of the USA without being thoroughly searched, you may still be searched by the country admitting you. Traveling with a lot of undeclared cash is a bad idea. |
