As a guy, I can say an orgasm is truly intense for about 5 seconds and that's about it. Women seem to feel something else.

My understanding is that women have more touch receptors in that area. That would lead me to believe that they would have better orgasms.

Men can have prostate orgasms, which are said to be the most powerful, and longer than penis orgasms. Also, men can have multiple orgasms just as women (though this is not talked about as often, but just google it or look in Wikipedia). Women, on the other hand, only have their clitoris, and most of the time are unable to reach orgasm by penetration alone. Besides, the female G-spot is considered a hoax by serious researchers.

The g-spot is considered to be nothing more than the inner clitoral nerves (in that sense, it's a kind of hoax). The Wikipedia article about "Orgasm" has a good summary of all the research that has been done in that field, and most anatomical studies have concluded that if there's something sensitive in that area, that's the clitoral nerves. So far, all studies done to find a different g-spot have been unsuccessful. The vagina itself has not enough nerves to trigger an orgasm.
Of course, stimulating the clitoris through the vagina feels different than stimulating it directly, and it may be felt as more or less enjoyable. In my experience at least, "vaginal" orgasms are weaker but more satisfying. But that doesn't mean it's a different type of orgasm.
Only men can have two types: penile and prostate, combinated or not. And judging by the descriptions of prostate orgasms (though I will never be able to verify it myself), those are far above anything a womn can feel, specially if they're multiple.
