Monitoring the Fiscal Cliff
This is the last day available to reach an agreement. Do you think that there will be a last minute agreement or we gonna see the cliff?

Markets behaviour:

In London, the FTSE 100 opened 0.4% lower at the start of a trading day that will see the market close at 12:30 GMT because of the New Year holiday.

The CAC 40 in France is also on a half day and started trading fractionally down.

While Germany's DAX is closed, the Dow Jones will be open for business on Wall Street later as Democrats and Republicans begin their final push for a deal to avert the fiscal cliff.

Dow Futures currently point to a higher opening after five days of falls despite a deal palatable to both sides remaining elusive.

Fiscal cliff and Oil prices:

However, Money Morning global energy strategist Kent Moors wrote Saturday that the fiscal-cliff drama in Washington was having little effect on the oil markets.

“The price of crude oil has been rising over the past week to prices higher than at any point since mid-October. Natural gas prices have been declining, with a reversal now expected with the first major series of winter storms pummeling the East Coast,” he wrote. “Both have been reacting to market forces, not to political hype.”

Re: Monitoring the Fiscal Cliff
Deal or no deal, the whole thing is a red herring. Any deal will not come close to fixing the problem.

It's a distraction from the real 16.5 trillion dollar debt problem that doubled from around 8 trillion over the last five years or so. That's over 100% of the GDP.

All MSM coverage is now for entertainment value.

It is all kabuki theatre, really doesn't matter. The private Fed Reserve will print more fake money to pay off the fake debt in order to retain their fake power, over a people with with a false reality, end of story. Who gives a crap.

Add another 8 trillion or so over the next 4 years and you'll see there is no way out of this hole, only global depression-WW3.
