Well if you enjoy Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead

I'd go with DirecTV because you can't get AMC on Dish Network

other than that I don't see a real difference

Dish carries TheBlaze and that is about the only news source you can trust these days.

Re: Dish Network or DirecTV - Which is better?
Only thing that has annoyed us about DirectTV are sports-related blackouts. Like right now - NHL is in a lockout so we cannot order the Center Ice package - its not even offered (nor should it be). There was a 1972 Chicago Blackhawks game on the other night that was blacked out for us....because we don't have (and they aren't offering) Center Ice. We're in AZ so it really made no sense. There have been a few other odd Football blackouts (and we have a football package) for us lately that got my husband in a huff. And, customer service agents never know what you are talking about so you just get nowhere but more frustrated discussing blackouts with them. These silly sport-related issues, however, had no impact on me whatsoever and I love DirectTV. I have no experience with Dish and have been a DTV customer for about five years now and love it. You do need to contact them often to get discounts, they don't just offer them. Once the new customer discounts go away for you, don't forget to call!

Had nothing but bad experiences w/Cox in the past. Good luck!

Stay far away from Direct. If you don't believe me ask the installer for DirectTV when they come to your house.

Direct is best, when they raise you, as they will, call em and tell em you can't deal anymore. They just lowered our bill by 25 bucks.
Better lineups.

Re: Dish Network or DirecTV - Which is better?
had dish, but would lose picture any time it snowed or was real cloudy. When we canceled we had to send in a part off the dish or pay big bucks. Luckly we had mounted on a 6'pole in the yard. If it was on top of the house, it would've sucked to try to get it off. dish also was "flexible" when it came to getting discounts after comittment period.

You couldn't GIVE ME Dish network for free!!!!! It sucks BAD!
My parents switched to try to save money...it was horrible! After their 2 yr agreement was over they switched back to Direct tv.
You only get maybe 1/2 the channels on Dish that you get w/ Direct tv.

Re: Dish Network or DirecTV - Which is better?
My cable bill just kept getting higher and higher with no negotiating a lower fee so I dropped it. My son came over with a set of rabbit ears and it turns out I receive 9 stations so I get the local news, NBC, CBS, BBC and ABC. The picture quality is great and had I known this, I would have never gotten cable in the first place. Netflix offers all the movies for a cheap monthly rate.

I don't watch much TV but my wife and daughter do.

I've had Dish for over 10 years, best service, free channel previews, new channels added periodically.
Just go through Dish itself, not a reseller.

Interesting comments on this old thread as well. . .

Thread: Directv or Dish Network

Looks like DirecTV is difficult to cancel if you decide to change.
