I really got stung. Got out of the shower and it was on my towel.

Same still applies.

I once had pet Emperor scorpions. They seemed very deliberate in movements... I would let them crawl all over me.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure that if you are not dying right now, that you should be good. Normally arthropod venom is not dangerous to mammals.

Benadryl keeps me awake. I quite despise the stuff actually.

But indeed... most people don't realize that run-o-the-mill Benadryl is a better bet against anaphylaxis than is adrenaline (Epi-Pen).

Puts me out quick. I try not to take it... makes waking up the next day hard.

Benadryl... most people don't know you should always have some handy.

When I was 7 or so, I was having sleep over at my cousins house in Ruch, Oregon. That night we slept in the living room which had windows very much like the ones I am sleeping under tonight.

We both slept in sleeping bags that hadn't been used for a time, on a hide-a-bed.

The next morning I woke with the Sun streaming in through the windows. In the night I had gotten hot and unzipped my sleeping bag to allow for my legs to exit.

When I woke, sitting less than a few inches from my knee was a live scorpion. I saw it and did not move, but then moved away.

It did not or had not stung me in the time it was there. Scorpions do not frequent that part of Oregon. So, it was determined during breakfast, it most likely had been in the sleeping bags they had camped with some time before.


I remember it to this day.

And looked identical to the one in your photo.

I got stung once on the hand. It swelled up. Hurt for a few days. But I was sleeping when it happened.

I am in Texas, they don't get very big here. It being on my back makes it hard to mess with too much.

I will be okay.
