Seriously, though. Lots of weirdness going on out there!

Not liking it!
 Quoting: Steve5728

Weirdness has been going on for a long time...we just now have the ability to see it with many more eyes than our own. We are also paying more attention than in the past because it, like the atomic scare in the 50's and 60's, has heightened our survival senses.
I know the voices aren't real, but man do they come up with some great ideas!

Hey guys. You're right Gerry, but still, it's too quiet. It hit 103 today and with the holiday next week...time for a bit of Texas weirdness. Not even hearing many domestic calls our town is famous for when it gets this hot.

Not really, bio. Statistically, that's when the worst riots happen. Violent crime is higher too. People's tempers are shorter when it's hot. If they want us to get out of control, though, they'll do it in the summer AND turn the power off.

They built the "new" one in '82, I think. Oh, that was heaven!LOL Now that I think about it, the commissary at Kaneohe was a quonset hut, too. Housing was much newer there.

You know, every time O and troop goes to Kailua, I think of the Marines and their families at Kaneohe. It's hard enough over there. The officers beach houses used to be right off the enlisted beach. It was not a very nice beach, either. Every time the General had a hair you know where, they would close the beach. He wanted peace and quiet. I can just about imagine what it's like with O playing golf or the kids bowling there.

I realize talking about beaches, golf and bowling doesn't sound like a hard time, but that's about all there is to do. I was there a very long time ago, but I doubt much has changed. It was hard being white and military on Oahu. I hope Rev. Stargazer doesn't read this or be offended by it, but I was glad to leave. I'd never seen a cockroach before I lived there and we won't talk about the gekkos!LOL major culture shock. I did like Ala Moana shopping mall, though. All kinds of things never seen in Ohio! By the time we PCS'd, I had rock fever. I was ready to leave, even if it was to PI!

Things are extreme for the moment in the middleeast. Israel has called up the Golani division in a rapid unannounced drill. This coincides with Russia evacuating troops and staff out of Syria. There is a strong sense that Syria is ready to clash with Israel on the behalf of Iran. We have heard this before but, the time is now ripe and Israel staged its mock response in order to try to force Assad to back away from some very threatening military preparations. They are now waiting to see if Assad backs down from his ominous actions.

Alert for all.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "The reality around us is changing and it is explosive, and we must prepare accordingly... We must have the will to break the enemy and instill within it - at the moment of truth - the fear of death," he said. [link to www.ynetnews.com]

Ya'alon warned that Israel wouldn't tolerate a violation of its sovereignty or harm inflicted on IDF soldiers or Israeli civilians, either on the northern border or from the Gaza Strip. "It's important to clarify to all who are on the other side of the border, and who are planning to harm us in one way or another, that we are ready and determined to act with full force," Ya'alon said. Russia evacuates Tartus, also military, diplomatic personnel from Syria. High war alert in Israel
DEBKAfile Video Jun 26, 2013, 5:11 PM (IDT)

Shortly after DEBKA aired a special video on the Syrian war’s widening circle, Moscow announced Wednesday June 26, the evacuation beginning Friday of all Russian military and diplomatic personnel from Syria was complete, including its naval base at Tartus. “Russia decided to withdraw its personnel because of the fear of an incident involving the Russian military that could have larger consequences,” said a defense ministry official in Moscow. A 16-ship naval task force remains in the eastern Mediterranean. An unannounced Israeli war maneuver was conducted on the Golan.

Steve, I believe you are right.

We have dhs insider saying July 3rd, another source V saying the same thing and now our friend is warning us that things are heating up.

Praying for you all.
Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Steve, I begged my husband when he was home for 4 days to retire, I don't want him on the streets of LA when the shtf. He is so stubborn. What to do!

I fully understand! I've got 24 years in myself! Wife tells me the same thing! Believe it or not, it's not easy to leave the job! It's all you know! It becomes a big part of who you are! Any LEO who tells you something different is flat out lying! I'm praying for his safety!
