Taking over South Korea is the mission, threatening mainland USA keeps our troops here instead of deploying UN or some co-effort of troops at the border.

The border is obviously weak.

Re: WORLD at WAR, OFFICIAL 2013 THREAD (Doom always only a moment away)
So the 10th in Korea, daylight will be somewhere near 6 pm central time.

I expect that with two missile launchers, North Korea will test two missiles, even if the first one gets shot down. If or when a missile flies over Japan, Japan will respond by trying to shoot it down. If unsuccessful, the chances of the US trying to shoot the missile down will be slim as Obama wants to play tit for tat with our response. Missies in the pacific does not worry obama. That being said he will not even try to attack the launchers simply to try to keep the peace. If one uses the NWO theory, Obama is itching to start a war and will attack the launchers. This will result in artillery and short range missile skirmishes from the north. After a few hours of tit or tat things will calm down. Until north Koreas next move. Either way tensions will go up.

The question is how far can and will North Korea push things and how far will the US actually back its allies. The next 36 hours will be interesting to say the least. I will be on a quick road trip so if an EMP hits I may be SOL in Salt Lake City. Ugh guess I could hoof it to bug out but that would take 20 days at 20 miles a day.
 Quoting: MIL MAN

Well if you break down in SLC due to an EMP give me a call and I'll come get you in the '63 pickup. Oh wait...no phones...got a ham radio?
 Quoting: Gerry52

No ham radio. I will be the guy with a younger son stuck at a Marriott by the Jazz basketball arena. If the SHTF too quick, I may just have to pull a all nighter and head home before the worst case unfolds. Seriously I am trying to stay positive and any EMP will be a second or third reaction to increased tempo of hostilities.
 Quoting: MIL MAN

Hope all is quiet until you return. Stay safe and anyone makes it too Michigan after SHTF. I'm in the Lansing area.

The local time in North Korea is now 02:51. If previous times of missile launches are adhered to then they will launch something in the next 5 or so hours (possibly even in the next hour)

If North Korea is going to launc a rocket today (4/10 their time), they will need to do it near max temperature which might be near 48 degrees around 2pm their time or 1am EST/11pm pst

It's not supposed to be above 40 degrees until 12 pm or so. Ideal launch conditions might not be great as light showers could be in the area.

The last two launches took place at 7:40 AM and 10 AM. Ideally they would like to launch again during this period but I don't know if that is going to happen. The first time the weather looks good is Friday where temps will peak above 50 and Clear.

So if there isn't a launch in the next 8 to 10 hours look to Friday.

Arrests Point to FARC Ties to AQIM. -

Colombia's largest insurgency, the FARC, has allegedly been exchanging drugs for weapons with the North Africa faction of Al Qaeda, highlighting the international reach of the guerrilla's criminal networks.

In March, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) arrested two Colombians, one an alleged member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), along with three alleged members of a Salafist group linked to Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) in Algeria on drug trafficking charges, according to the Spanish news organization Cadena Ser.

The Colombians were allegedly delivering a shipment of cocaine to swap for cash, and arms acquired in Libya following the fall of dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

CNN - North Korean missiles fueled ready to go...

The Obama administration believes North Korea has most likely completed launch preparations and could test fire mobile ballistic missiles at any time based on the most recent intelligence, a U.S. official said.

A test launch of one or both of missiles thought to be loaded into mobile launchers could happen without North Korea issuing a standard warning to commercial aviation and maritime shipping, according to the official...
