A few points to consider...keep in mind you are getting what you paid for here.

Kim continues to attempt to shape the psychological battlefield with his, for the most part, empty threats. You are all watching a NK performance extraordinare.

The family has been playing out this same performance for 25 or maybe 30 years now. It is losing its efficacy which is why they have had to ratchet up their rants a bit more each time.

The Obama White House has decided, to their credit, not to feed into his temper tantrums any longer. Finally someone has realized that rewarding bad behavior is not a good idea. They will not even talk to him till he ratchets down his rhetoric a bunch. This also pisses off Kimmy.

South Korea is still encouraging their citizens in NK at the Kaesong complex to continue to stay there. The complex is still producing goods and they have 1 to 2 weeks of raw materials to continue operating.

I know in my heart of hearts that Kim does not want war. He knows he will lose at least his position at most his life if he does anything stupid. He does NOT have the capability to launch a nuke. He never has because they simply don't have the technology. What the South Koreans are concerned about are his conventional forces raining down conventional artillery into the Seoul/Inchon Metroplex.

As I said. you get what you pay for and that is exactly what this may be worth...time will tell

All I want is for Iran to become a Walmart parking, sounds bad but Isreal and the US need to stop playing musical chairs with them.

North Korea is drastically expanding a missile launch site in Musudan-ri, North Hamgyong Province, and has changed the shape of warheads to improve missile accuracy.

“The North is building a new launch site designed for massive rockets in Musudan-ri,” a South Korean missile expert said. “They’re expanding the assembly facility there by 28 m so that they can assemble two long-range missiles simultaneously.”

South Korean authorities believe that the new launch facility is bigger than the missile test site in Tongchang-ri, North Pyongan Province from which the North’s space rocket was launched last year. They base their conclusions on a flame-passage device and a huge fuel tank there.

The expert said the accuracy of the North’s missiles is likely to improve through the use of triconic instead of simple conic warheads, a change of shape which does not reduce the weight.

Triconic warheads were first used for the improved version of the Rodong missile in 2000 and are now also being used for medium and long-range missiles, he said.

Weather over Korea conducive for missile launch and according to Yonhap satellite images show launchers being moved into open.

I don't think North Korea is going to do anything other than maybe test a few missiles, make outrageous threats, and possibly shoot themselves in the foot (permanently shuttering Kaesong)...BUT they've given me something to follow while I work out...

Any chance the Iranian earthquake wasn't a natural occurrence?

I presume it was too strong to be man-made.

The border was hardly open to begin with. You may remember, a couple of years ago Lisa Ling's sister was arrested for crossing into DPRK from China. It's been a heavily guarded border w/ limited access for years...

Even though they are allies, China doesn't want to be overrun by de-stabilizing starving Koreans & DPRK doesn't want to be infected w/ China's capitalism (sort of).

"SKY KING" is the collective call for all SAC SIOP forces. These EAM messages are sent several times a day 7/24/365 and have been for many years. Generally you will hear "SKYKING SKYKING DO NOT ANSWER. MESSAGE FOLLOWS...". The preamble will change depending on who is sending the information and to whom it is directed. These messages are impossible to decode because they use a "one time pad" for each individual message. These comms are a backup only to very modern communications systems. They are somewhere in the order a 5th or 6th backup.
