Re: WORLD at WAR, OFFICIAL 2013 THREAD (Doom always only a moment away)
Besides, taking out the S-300 by the IDF, before it is up and loaded, is certainly an option.

Other voices would say, it might not be the right moment to do so, and besides, it is just a S-300.
In some time, or even now, you fly the whole of the IDF fleet right above its nose raining roses and they wouldn't even notice it.

Like before, this decision is up to the security council and Bibi, which bundles the information and takes a decision.

I personaly believe, they are going to look very hard at the decision, and if it is cheap right now, they might take it out right now. If not, they are going to through roses in some future time.

In either case, the above all leading principle will be, not to get involved in the syrian terror war.

Besides, off topic maybe, but the NSA spying program is drippling out slowly but surely.

And there is going to be a serious backlash by the EU against the US because of that.

It is right now talking time, and all over the place angry voices are heard, very angry. The US has lost a big part of its credibility over this NSA actions.

Just saying ... .

Egypt is too early to tell.
Sure is, they are going to have a bloody weekend.

But there are no shiites like in Syria. So there will be no iranian axis involvement. So, no shiite vs sunni war on egypt soil.

As far as I understood, the moslim brotherhood is on the paylist of the US. As was Mubarak.

So right now, it seems to be a conflict between the people, wanting freedom, and the muslim brotherhood / US, trying to establish a controlled muslim state.

Since all the other sunni states from the house of saud to the dictatorship of Bahrein are on the US paylist, I doubt, that the demonstrations will change anything tomorrow.

BUT, Egypt has a special status in the moslem world. Egyptians, are listened to, and tend to be a "trend setter" in the moslim world.

aTon, I'm glad we're still friends. It's getting harder and harder, these days, to know what to say and how to say it. Our friend that started these threads, took a great chance posting the information that he did. He has to deal with the fall-out for that now. The other guys may not feel they can speak out as openly. Even when our friend was here, they shared information the same way. I know it upsets you and I know why. I guess I got used to it, over the years, when my husband couldn't tell me things. It would infuriate me, but I knew he had no choice. I think the messages you're talking about are probably more about deciding what CAN be said openly, than hiding anything from us. They still have to worry about their jobs, when they post here.

So much has changed here in the states, lately. It is NOT the country I grew up in and gave up so much for. I could give you so many examples, but it would take up another thread to do it!LOL My next Great American Novel! I don't want to fill this thread with it.

I think the time is almost here for open discussion to be impossible. I don't know what it's like for you in France, but things are rapidly changing here. It's feeling much more like "certain countries" in our recent past. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Please be patient with us all. If we ARE acting a little paranoid, it might be for a good reason.hugs

I am working on getting an idea about the forthcoming Aleppo massacre / assault / purge / pinpoint strikes with some colleteral damage. As you want to name it.

I believe, up until now, the Assad regime is going to try to trap the rebels / terrorists.

[link to www.telegraph.co.uk]

That was in may. Up until 3 weeks ago, the blue area north of damascus is cleared of anti Assad forces, the blue areas at Holms are being cleared this week.

Now look at Aleppo, the picture up right. The international airport and surrounding areas are still being held by Assad forces. The "northern city" is government territory.

With all I got up until now, the rebels are armed by the US / Sunni axis and pour into Aleppo to defend the city.

On the other side Assad, Iranian and hisbollah forces are moving in very slowly. I think they are moving in slowly for the kill shot.

They let as many "fighter" as possible to get into the city, and then they will raze it to the ground.

As far as I know, they move to control the northern part of the city. They try to cut off the escape to turkey.

This is going to be one epic massacre, on the scale of stalingrad.

MM didn't post information already known already. If he is in trouble for what he said, you should all open your eyes.

The US people will never be subdued by outside forces, this is only possible by an internal coup d'etat.

And you are right, strange stories, unbelievable stories about people being arrested are getting into light more and more often.

On the other side, terrorist scare, race wars, radiation and last but not least, evil russia is making headlines.

Years ago, you walked freely, now you get rounded up.
We had this here before in europe, I opened a thread about this, but nobody replied. I think this doesn't really interest anybody on this board.

Here in France, people are overtaxed, and this is litteraly overtaxed. France has not the money to have a NSA, or something near like that. Up until now, we are quite happy with the police work, though they are too active on the highways, LOL.

But here, cities burn easily, if things are getting too pushy, very easily and that is not a pretty site.

I wish you bravery, in the US.

And a big hug.

By the way, the statue of liberty was invented in France.

Here is the original, in Colmar.

You know, Buckeye from Texas, in my country, the government decides when to go to war. A little press conference is always set up, the predident speaks and justifies his moves.

I am not happy with that. That is not normal, in my eyes. That maybe was normal in the cold war.

But today, people do not want to go to war with far away places. They want to go to war with enemies, threatening their territory or their way of life.
But that should be decided by the people, who will die in that war, and not by a lone clown president.

But this is not a debate in France. But it should be for europe. But it isn't.

I understand the other side, and they are right, too, this world is a dangerous place, and if we do not plan for the war in 2020, we will loose it. And if we do not fight the threats of today, we will be overhelmet tomorrow.

But lots of threats are inflated, do not exist.

We are sliding into a society, where military is setting standards in civil society, because of "threats".

I personally am sure, that this math is going to shoot up right into the face of the government and its foundings, sooner or later. And it is going to hurt the economy. Sooner or later.

The focus in Syria today has been Homs - looks like Assad is clearing the corridor between Damascus & the sea..

Syrian forces have launched a major offensive against rebel-held parts of the city of Homs.

Aircraft, tanks and mortar units attacked several areas, activists say. Unverified footage showed clouds of smoke from explosions across the city.

Syrian state TV said the army had achieved a "great success" in Homs after "killing many terrorists".

The attack follows gains in Homs province by the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in recent weeks.

The planned protest for tomorrow in Egypt is not looking good at all. I heard that 3 are dead and 85 injured. We put Morsi in office and now we are helping kill these people, many are Christians.

I have friends in Egypt who are missionaries. They are on the run and trying to get out before they are killed.

Our administration is a disgrace supporting the muslim brotherhood. Egypt, Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and many more countries, we have done this! I shake my head in disgust.

Re: WORLD at WAR, OFFICIAL 2013 THREAD (Doom always only a moment away)
NY Times - Missiles for the Syrian rebels courtesy of Qatar

As an intermittent supply of arms to the Syrian opposition gathered momentum last year, the Obama administration repeatedly implored its Arab allies to keep one type of powerful weapon out of the rebels’ hands: heat-seeking shoulder-fired missiles.

The missiles, American officials warned, could one day be used by terrorist groups, some of them affiliated with Al Qaeda, to shoot down civilian aircraft.

But one country ignored this admonition: Qatar, the tiny, oil- and gas-rich emirate that has made itself the indispensable nation to rebel forces battling calcified Arab governments and that has been shipping arms to the Syrian rebels fighting the government of President Bashar al-Assad since 2011.

Since the beginning of the year, according to four American and Middle Eastern officials with knowledge of intelligence reports on the weapons, Qatar has used a shadowy arms network to move at least two shipments of shoulder-fired missiles, one of them a batch of Chinese-made FN-6s, to Syrian rebels who have used them against Mr. Assad’s air force. Deployment of the missiles comes at a time when American officials expect that President Obama’s decision to begin a limited effort to arm the Syrian rebels might be interpreted by Qatar, along with other Arab countries supporting the rebels, as a green light to drastically expand arms shipments.

I am still around, but like I have said, consequences are keeping my lips sealed tight for the most part. At some point I will be back in my old form and the alphabets can the fuck off, but until then, I am buying time.

Seems life is also trying to ruin things too, my wife has a large mass causing paralysis. I have had to watch a physically fit woman crawl and limp. She cannot drive. We thought it was a bulging disc for 12 weeks. Now we must play the waiting game to find out what this mass is. G-d is in control but the lessons to learn are confusing to say the least, why my children may have to learn about how precious life is and how cruel it can be too is not something to look forward to.

Sad thing is that many are now coming to the conclusion that Israel must now live with a nuclear Iran, live, I do not think so.

Egypt Update

when will protest Start? @BBCAhmedMaher: @sarahussein supposedly at 4:00 Cairo time...march from Tahrir to the palace - that's 10 am ET

Of course, people have been camped out for days. You can watch what's happening in Tahrir through Internet TV - looks pretty dead right now... [link to www.ontv-live.com]

Netanyahu admits IAF carried out secret operations
Prime minister tells graduating air force cadets that Israeli forces are prepared for any scenario
By Adiv Sterman June 27, 2013, 10:08 pm

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israeli Air Force planes carried out a number of secret military missions in the past year in order to secure the country.

Speaking at an IAF cadet graduation ceremony, Netanyahu said the IDF was ready for any scenario that may arise.

“In the last year, in a number of theaters, we acted, sometimes openly and sometimes secretly, and we achieved our goals,” Netanyahu said.
