I've heard this term a few times now, but i can't find what it means. What is a grandfathered weapon?

I can't find it on google either, because all i can find is news articles using this term.

It means you'll get to keep the guns and magazines you already have (until they decide to take them too) but you will be required to register them.

Her bill is about all of the guns. She wants all of them confiscated, but she won't say that outright because she knows the bill will not pass if she does that. However, that is the intent.

Grandfathered means that the weapon is legal to own, since it was purchased before the ban, therefore not subject to the restriction.

Yeah, that way they can pass a slightly less offensive version over the July 4th holiday. But either way, further infringement is considered an 'Overt and Aggressive Act' and will be dealt with accordingly.

There are different levels of grandfathering. Some allow any weapon or part manufactured before a specific date to be bought and sold. Others only allow the owner at the time of the ban to keep it. These forbid the selling, gifting, giving away, or even leaving the weapon to your children upon your death. Others will allow you to keep them, but they must be made permanently inoperable - ie made into a paperweight or display item.

The grandfathering law is that if you legally conduct an activity or purchase a piece of property legally, then if said action were to become illegal in the future, you would not be in violation of the law as your actions & property were committed/ acquired before the law was enacted.

This is why it is important to keep track of laws & make purchases before any laws change. The Codex is trying to restrict certain vitamins, but if you purchase these vitamins before they are illegal, the government cannot take them from you or charge you with a crime. The same goes for guns.
