Fiscal-Cliff Showdown Postponed to March. Republicans Banding Together to Unseat Boehner
With a cocky President Obama no doubt grinning from ear-to-ear, federal lawmakers yesterday gave their blessing to legislation that boosts income tax rates and government spending while kicking many of the “fiscal cliff” issues down the road for several weeks.

The $1.2 trillion in scheduled spending cuts –falling largely on the Pentagon– have now been officially postponed for two months.

The next manufactured crisis comes March 1, the day the cuts will take effect unless Congress intervenes again to stop them.

Putting off dire problems for another day is now becoming routine in Washington, D.C., commentator Jim Antle opined on Twitter. “We have reached the point where temporarily averting self-inflicted disasters at the last second is a political success.”

The Obama-approved fiscal-disaster procrastination bill received final congressional approval in the House last night with relatively little Republican support after a prolonged fight during a long lame duck session of the outgoing Congress.

Obama and Democrats got almost everything they wanted, as many Republicans dropped their long-standing opposition to income tax rate increases.

Now Obama comes across to many low-information voters as a kind of champion of the middle class, and Republicans, whom the media would have painted as villains no matter what the fiscal cliff outcome, look like stubborn obstructionists who had to be forced to do the supposedly right thing.

SOURCES: ENOUGH REPUBLICANS WILLING TO UNSEAT SPEAKER BOEHNER

American Majority Action spokesman Ron Meyer told Breitbart News late Tuesday that enough House Republicans have banded together in an effort to unseat House Speaker John Boehner from his position--they just need a leader to take up the mantle.

“At least 20 House Republican members have gotten together, discussed this and want to unseat Speaker Boehner--and are willing to do what it takes to do it,” Meyer said. “That’s more than enough to get the job done, but the one problem these guys face is they need a leader to coalesce behind.”

Fiscal cliff showdown postponement is not the big news to me its going to be used to overshadow the Ultimatum the US gave Iran until March 2013 to cooperate much like Bush gave Saddam that December Ultimatum to cooperate before the US Coalition Forces invaded

Interesting ... so the 3.11. event is still a possibility for "painting the town red".

The "COAST-(US)-ALL" event that "HIGH CLIFF" promised or the "KILLSHOT" for the financial system that the "PROSPEROUS PROTECTOR OF OUR LADY/LADIES" prognosed.

"Here comes the SON ..."

Boehner is the head stooge in this drama. He is purging all conservatives from committee chairmanships to be replaced by big spenders like himself.

Re: Fiscal-Cliff Showdown Postponed to March. Republicans Banding Together to Unseat Boehner
You know what the sad thing is in all this Democrats vs Republican fighting? The fact that most of you as Americans fail to realize that there is no such thing anymore as Democrats and Republicans. As there is no such thing as Labor Parties and Liberal Parties or Christian Democratic Parties anymore over here in Europe or where ever else.

In the past (decades ago) people voted from a social or religious background for people who at least stood for what they believed in, whether that was wrong or right in the eyes of others. Nowadays politics have become X-factor in your face media shows without any real political color (even though they still try to make us believe there is), where one-liners and degrading the opponents rule the stage.

Whether their name is Obama, Romney, Merkel, Berlusconi, Monti, Sarkozi, Hollande, Rutte, Samson or whatever, they are merely actors in a continuous world stage play, controlled by the puppet masters behind the curtain. And we as people, the audience, boo them and eachother from our red or blue tribune. It is the longest running stage play on earth, where every show is sold out till the last chair!

Of course, the current actors will be laid off too at one point in time, sooner or later, but it will only prove to be a Phyrrus Victory, because they are replaced by a new group of actors with the same masks and the same lines. And we, the audience, keep paying the entrance fees at an increasing rate.

Only when we as society start to realize that we need to find common ground and combine strenghts to end this stage play, without the burden of present political background or color and take care of those who struggle in times of need and also benefit together in times of prosperity, instead of emphasizing weakness of our fellow humans, we might have a chance to slow down the rapid derailing of that same society by those who really run the show. If we fail to see that need, this society will increase in getting colder and colder, a world without compassion for those who can not run fast enough to make it, while those in charge, the über rich oligarchs of this world, keep pulling the strings of all of us from their throne.

Bottom line: quit thinking political color, stop degrading eachother, but go from respect and finding strenghts in eachother to combine in order to make this society a better place for all. Make no mistake, we are none the same, we are all unique, with whatever skills we might have. That uniqueness is not a curse, but a blessing. It is about time we cash in those blessings by accepting eachothers uniqueness.

Of course, many of you will say I am naive in my thinking, but I rather be naïve and and die standing tall, than to give in to fear, bend over and accept what others think I should accept.

Just my two cents. I apologize in advance for them probably being way too long.

The most dangerous thing about Boehner is that he recently made noises that he would support amnesty for illegal aliens. That would be the end of the Republican Party, and would also send our country into an irreversible decline.

Boehner must go.

New Republicans/Tea Party politicians from 2010 vs. Old Guard establishment attempting to crush them. Boehner's removing conservatives from committee chairmanships shouts "I'm a big spending moderate and screw smaller govt.". He may as well be a democrat. Like Osamba, watch what he does, not what he says. Proof is in the pudding.
