I started smoking in my teens, encouraged by my mom (Yep.)
Quitting was wonderful...it took patience and time, but soon I lost all cravings for cigarettes. You have to get those people who are a negative influence away from you as much as possible, take vitamins and get lots of fruits & vegetables. Put away any major projects and goals for awhile... Take up a simple hobby (one that wont' frustrate you) that keeps your hands very busy - simple origami, knitting, crochet, sewing, model making, computer games...I found most of my addiction was a "hand needing to do something" addiction...and get snacks like carrot sticks, pretzels, celery and dip that sort of mimic cigarettes...
You'll start to feel healthier, smell things, and feel better and more relaxed. Wash all your clothes, sheets and open up windows to get your home fresh and clean so you can enjoy it as your sense of smell returns...
the worst is over in a couple weeks...
