According to all religious organizations, the bible was authored by God. Actually, a man named Moses wrote it, but they believe that God dictated it to him. Whatever the case, the bible is a work of Literature and in these first few words we have two completely different stories with completely different characters. Can we agree on this much?

The 'us' in Vs:26 is God and the Holy Spirit, likeness is bodily form including the number of fingers and toes. Image is the relationship between God and the Holy Spirit, more or less Husband and Wife in that they are also one flesh.
Ge:1 is God's witness of creation, Ge: is from the view of the Holy Spirit, the witness of their child Christ is given in Proverbs 8. Would you like to meet the parents of God and the Holy Spirit at some point in eternity?

Even the hebrew understanding of YHWH on which the 'christian' version of events relies so heavily accepts a plurality with the shekinah aspect, the one drummed out of worship by the catholic church over many years.

Please, in these first words the character Satan has not even appeared yet. But it does say that the Gods made male and female in their own image. Then they rested. Along comes a totally new character called the Lord God and makes a dust man and then a woman out of his rib. If this is not Absolute proof of a LIE, I do not know what is.

The bible is very deep by design therefore it cannot be explained easily from a shallow perspective...
