The easiest way to see if there has been a large explosion is to check earthquake sites. If a "quake" shows up there was possibly a large explosion. The entire quake detection system was originally designed to detect nuclear detonations.

I guarantee you every decent sized quake in Iran gets looked at by the US govt to make sure its a real quake and not a weapons test.
