Saw it too in north Georgia.

Question is, is it based on temporary regional temps or a longer term seasonal trend?

A friend of mine drove from New Mexico to Pennsylvania last week with her boyfriend.
She said that at one point in the trip, they found themselves driving underneath hundreds of flocks of birds in V formation, spanning as far as she could see; from horizon to horizon. She said she was amazed to see so many birds at one time. But her amazement turned to bewilderment when she realized that all the birds were flying NORTH. In December.

The first thing I thought was that all of the weather modification devices are confusing the birds.

Interesting to find that her experience was not an isolated incident.

I maintain that - for the past few years - the seasonal calender has been off for about six to eight weeks.

It's cooler earlier and for a shorter period.

Spring is coming sooner, lasting a shorter period and is followed by a long hard Summer.

We are now at six months of Summer, two months of Fall, two months of Winter and two months of Spring...with Spring and Winter being extreme... ultra cold or icy or snowy in winter and tornadoes in Spring.

Fantastic ! I sat in a blind or on my fat ass on the frozen ground for 5 days just South of Jonesboro (Otwell); and by god (or whomever), it's about time is all I can say....the ducks and geese went so far South of the freeze line that I thought they would never come back...it was the first time that I drove across Arkansas, from Jonesboro to Memphis, without seeing ONE goose nor ONE duck...."strange" is not the word.....shocking would be better....Duck's Unlimited claimed that there were more ducks counted since 1953.....I don't see it.....it's utter BS....something is amiss......the climate is so Fooked Up that even the ducks cannot contend with it...!!!

I've been farming for over 40 years (that's by occupation; by profession, I will keep that to myself); regardless, when men use science (global warming) as a political wedge issue there is something VERY fooked up about this country.....

Hey, I noticed the same thing here in Sacramento, dozens of V formations heading north yesterday afternoon (1/1/13). Strange.

Oh dear God,
the geese here fly many miles north in the daytime, to the fields where they eat
they fly south at night to roost

Hmmmm....

Maybe there is a warm front coming in from the south?

Just throwing that out there for arguments sake.

I too see geese flying both directions.
Early morning they fly north.
Early evening they fly south.

In simple terms the jet stream is changing and IS going to stop, this is a fact. When is the question.

Birds and 'bugs' are already feeling the change, in the UK outside I have just run into a spider who should of stopped/slowed during November. I also have seen seveal mosquitoes in a november/Jan period who should of died out in the autum (August-October period)

From what I can see from your links... I am correct.

In Central America the jetstream has moved north. Therefore the Geese are flying north due to warm southern air.
