Canada Takes Unprecedented Step Towards A Cashless Society
Over the years we have heard and seen many people warning of the coming cashless society. Religious groups have been warming people about the “mark of the beast” for ages. It has always been something that was considered to be in the distant future, but not anymore!

BA International, a banknote printing operation in Ottawa owned by Giesecke & Devrient in Germany, stopped printing currency (including Canadian) as of January 1 2013.

You read that right! As of January 1st, no more Canadian currency is being printed.

With most money being digital why hasn't the cost of producing the money and the interest come down?

By 2039 we will all be using only a debit card like monetary system. This means that all of our purchases will be spied upon. But a lot of people never complained because porn and media is mostly free (paid by advertising and new hardware that media makers also will sell), marijuana is legal, and you can still own a revolver if you qualify for a license. This isn't just in the U.S. but all over the world. Bills and coins are going away forever. If you want to do something illegal, it has to be bartered. But criminals are going to find it increasingly difficult to commit crime in the future with everyone deputized and rewarded for reporting crime. Did I mention that everyone in the world is in the military of their nation? Yes, I believe I did. We live in a social military structure in the future. It is the same system as the U.S. military today.

British American Bank Note and Canadian Bank Note both have/had contracts to print money for the Bank of Canada.

BA may have had their contract cancelled but Canadian Banknote is still printing. As it should be. Why should we have a bunch of fucking square heads printing our money?
