What is the best country to live in right now?

Fix your own country, you guys wanted a police state and an army bigger than all other countries combined. Now it is time to pay back.

The Swiss people are so happy that a lot of turn too crack. That country is so divided by the rich & poor, its not even funny.

& Norway is probably one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in. A cup of coffee probably cost 8, no joke.

clean green peaceful developed, i wish i had a house in middle of nowhere in netherlands surrounded by trees and green lands with my own farm with cows and animals.

USA is as good as it gets, unless you're wealthy and can move to a tropical island somewhere.

My brother just moved to Ohio with his American wife. He thought life might be abit better in the States but government big brother seems to be worse out there than in the UK.

I would like to agree as I love nature, but they also do have the most dangerous species living in the waters, as well as the land. Just a thought of me getting eaten by a croc, shark, stung by a jelly fish, or me getting bit form a snake, or a spider, has me going gung ho about swimming in the waters, or hiking on the land.

So I guess I can agree, with you, except you have no snow, I enjoy sledding.

It depends on your objective. Study the demographics and make a conscious choice. I would love a warm climate, few people very laid back where one can earn enough money to live a comfortable existence.

But, there are no places like that I have found. They are either desolate/poor or overpopulated and overrun with rich and dirt poor.

Ha funny. You have no idea what the word snow really means.

Switzerland is safe and very developed but my god I'd go crazy there; too boring. And fucking expensive, as someone pointed out. I feel the same way about Singapore -- too boring, too controlled, too many laws -- but Singapore is cheaper.

Brazil, while fun to visit, wouldn't be a place I'd want to live. Surprisingly expensive place and a crazy amount of government regulation on business owners, especially if they're foreign. It's tough to make your way in Brazil as a foreigner, and they make it intentionally really fucking tough to become a citizen. The Brazilian economy is starting to roll over, too. It had its moment but there are so many problems with the way things are run there that I wouldn't know where to begin explaining them.

I don't recommend Argentina, even though I love spending time here; things fall apart on a regular basis and inflation is currently running somewhere around 30% annually.

I have to agree with the Aussies who have posted on this thread; Australia would be a pretty damn good choice at this moment in history. Yes, they have that crazy real estate bubble to contend with and the country is expensive, but there are plenty of jobs and wages are good overall. The people are great and you've got the sun, sand and surf. Nice place. Just more expensive than I'd like.

Also, Thailand should be high on anyone's list -- cheap as can be, lots to see and do, amazing food, low stress environment. I love Malaysia, too, but it's quite a bit more expensive than Thailand. Anyway, just my .02.

Thanks for the advice and keeping it a secret is probably your best choice.

Best places to live right now: Canada, USA, UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Finland, Neatherlands, Denmark, Sweden...if you want a secure economy, then Germany is the place to be...there obviously isn't a "best" place to live in though, it all depends what kind of environment etc that you are looking for in a country. I'm from USA. Good luck!
