I wish there were an alternative to EVERYTHING GOOGLE.

I certainly don't see YouTube getting replaced with anything that has 'Google' on the front of it.

People at least want the illusion that there's a difference.

They'll have to make an entirely new site and platform...

Of course designed around the strict control they've enforced on YouTube/Google... it'll start out that way, not slowly develop into it like YouTube/Google did.

Metacafe maybe, has it's own player, 18+ stuff. Most of the videos are probably from youtube though.

Yeah it'll be something new...

And something which combines all the Twitter/FB/etc. capabilities...

The idea behind it will be to combine all those until gradually no one uses those sites anymore, sort of like what they did to MySpace... and instead it's ALL on the new site...

Your Twitter, your Facebook, your YouTube... ALL your possible media... this new site will open up its arms so you can share it all on one easy to surveil database.

Let's face it, they know what works, and now they know people will give it all. Six years of Facebook told them that. 7 years of YouTube... 5 years of Twitter... has led them to believe you're definitely dumb enough to share everything.


So they'll probably make it something short and very easily marketable and programmable in the mind... something all the idiots will think it's so cool to be apart of and sign up for as fast as possible just to be some of the first.


But yes, it will combine all these different platforms into one, and will probably still be like Facebook... completely boring, completely uncustomizable, totally dronelike.


It won't be fun or free... it'll be the kind of monotone you can only expect from a communist society. People will lap it up like flies on shit.

Because of how they changed the layout, people will boycott them, be totally offput from even logging into YouTube (as I have been), and they'll just completely lose interest.

Keep in mind this was done ON PURPOSE.

Google has a vision of how they want to do business. This includes branding their products with similar themes and interfacing.
