Quoting: <<TIMEWATCHER>> The incident began about 10 a.m. Tuesday when five Belleville detectives went into the Denny’s at 1130 South Illinois Street, ordered food and began to eat. The detectives had badges on their belts or on chains around their necks, but they weren’t in uniform. Belleville Capt. Donald Sax said restaurant manager David Rice then approached and told one of the detectives that a diner had complained about seeing one of the detectives carrying a gun. I do believe the "gun free" zones are beyond ridiculous, however, it seems that shoe doesn't fit as well on the other foot, does it? Though I'm sure the motivations were much different than would be my intention, this is exactly the point that needs to be made - government and it's employees (Federal, State, or Local) are NOT an elevated class above every other citizen, and that is a point that apparently many needs to be reminded of.
