WAKE UP AMERICA WAKE UP AMERICA "I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 19, 1776 "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it." Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 4, September 11, 1777 "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." -- Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President. "A majority of the people of the United States have lived all of their lives under emergency rule. For 40 years, [79 years now in 2012] freedoms and governmental procedures guaranteed by the Constitution have in varying degrees been abridged by laws brought into force by statutes of national emergency." |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 16923663 United States 01/03/2013 11:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As of Dec. 21, 2012 and since Jan. 1 2012, Chicago police have recorded 2,364 shooting incidents and 487 homicides, 87 percent of them gun-related. Shootings have increased 12 percent this year and homicides are up 19 percent. As of today that number of homicides went above 500 for the year. Chicago is an extremely violent city because criminals possess the largest portion of guns there. And in 2012 alone, 1.5 people died each day after being shot by bad people with guns. Chicago long ago went in the very direction Barack Obama, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and Mayor Michael Bloomberg want our entire country to go with in regard to gun laws. And has this made the city safer? Absolutely not. Instead, 532 people were killed by criminals with guns in Chicago during the 2012 calendar year alone. Why has this not worked? Because guns are still flooding in from all over the state of Illinois. You can't expect the guns to not get into urban cities like Chicago when they are surrounded by guns. This new law should really save a lot of lives. Not having this law keeps things the way they are, having this law can do NOTHING BUT SAVE LIVES. prove me wrong? |

Thanks Doc , I agree! “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

Which means one can guarantee absolutely there will be an event very soon to get the ball rolling. I very much doubt you will see martial law before the confiscation, otherwise there would be an armed revolt. imho, this has to be done under dark of night so neighbors wont be able to gather and help each other. It just makes sense. What is worse is we have not seen even one police or military member as of yet stand up for the oath they swore to uphold. I'm not buying guns, but I will be buying Vaseline for the ass-fucking we're about to get. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16923663 United States 01/03/2013 12:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We obviously have a gun control problem in this country. The whole rest of the world can see it, why can't we? Because we are blinded by our ADDICTION. We have more and more shootings each year, more people being killed by guns that were bought and owned by people with good intentions. You all like to bitch and moan and cry about them taking your guns, yet you offer not alternative solutions. I think it would be nice if everyone could keep their guns, I have a coupley myself, left to me by my father. My brother is a collector and my uncle actually owns a gun store. But I do see a problem, if you don't you ARE BLIND or lying to yourself. So what other solutions are there? Why not be productive and actually try to accomplish something in this thread, rather than crying and moaning and talking about how you will die to keep your guns. One of my solutions would be to require all guns have locking mechanisms that take fingerprint analysis to unlock. Or something to that effect, maybe DNA. We have the technology. Yes this would make guns ubber expensive, but if it saves lives, and allows us to keep our guns, isn't it worth the extra cost to buy one? Well that's my solution, w/o baning guns. Make good use of technology. Does anyone else have any other ideas? |

Not to worry; the 7th circuit court of appeals (which sits in Illinois) struck down a law restricting the carrying of concealed weapons 30 days ago...and, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the right to keep and possess firearms is an "individual" right.....so yes...it would be unconstitutional if passed.. |
