Yep sounds like it. My mate and her hubby both ended up on antibiotics for the second stage after they got pneumonia. Odd part was they both needed two courses of the drugs to clear their worst symptoms and it took weeks to recover completely. My son was ill for about 2 months, he also had to resort to antibiotics but thankfully didn't get pneumonia.

Bulldozer, try the percussion therapy. It's what a pulmonary tech might do to help you expel the mucus. Look at my post to see how or look on youtube how to do it. They recommend cupped hands. It looks dumb, but might dislodge the mucus. If not, it's atypical pneumonia.


You can't cough that mucus up.

There might be three seperate illnesses there based upon the symptoms.

The last is classic norovirus, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Worse, because it gets passed in a family, and often at work too. Everyone is miserable.

Try diffusing lemon oil that chilates chemicals.

By the way, I think I posted this, not sure too many flu topics, but here's a website that internationally monitors the flu (in several languages) in many states of the USA as well as many countries.

There's hot topics on the far right so you can see what people are buzzing about.

If concerned about your region, you can directly look it up and see how serious it is, and many medical personnel quietly discuss things there.

It might be helpful.

Don't worry too soon unless we get more data or if we see some clamp down of security. We have some idea of what would happen because of lots of scenario planning plus incidents like the asians coming through Canada several ago (SARS).

I posted this on another thread, but this one seems to be more active, so I'll repost it here.

Went to a Christmas party on Christmas Day. One person there was sick. I tried to avoid her, but you know how that goes.

3 days later, I became sick, along with her spouse, and two older people that were at the party.

I spent the first three days in bed, feeling horrible, and sleeping most of the time. Fever, congestion, achy. Pretty sure it was the flu. The fever and aches pretty much went away after that, but the congestion became worse, and seems to be moving up and down, between my head and my chest. I'm sometimes wheezy and crackly when I breathe, and can't stop coughing ... to the point of gagging and nearly throwing up. It's a nasty-sounding, mucus-y cough. I've been taking Mucinex the whole time. It loosens the junk, but it just won't go away. This is my 9th day, I think.

The sick girl at the party has been to the E/R, and was given antibiotics, but she's not much better.

One of the older folks "has it bad", last I heard, but that was a few days ago, and I don't have an update.

And the other older person who has it is now in the hospital with pneumonia, and seems to be declining.

We're all in Georgia. I don't know about the others, but I haven't had a flu shot. I do take daily vitamins, including C and D3, and try to exercise on a daily basis. I rarely get sick.

Whatever this crap is, it sucks. :-(

Oh, and nobody in my home smokes; never has.

not sick at all (crosses fingers), however very productive cough thats been worse in the AM and late PM hours about 2 weeks now.

My daughter lives on a barrier island in New Jersey where Super Storm Sandy hit. There was much destruction, but her home was basically okay. It needed some minor repairs.

When she and people go to visit their homes on the island, they come away with a cough. Perhaps mold or destroyed building materials are in the air. A few of these towns have given the people, with homes standing, the okay to move back in this week because the gas lines have been repaired, water is running, and electricity is available now.

I have the flu and everyone I know in Vancouver is sick and at home right now.

Slept with a heating pad on my head. This shit hurts.

2 in my house.

They hit the fuck out of us with chemtrails before Christmas to increase the Earths albedo and induce colder more "Christmassy" weather.

The Jews (retailers) know that cold weather and snow induces sales by creating that Normal Rockwell type Christmas feeling, increasing the so called "Christmas spirit".

The effects didn't hit us until Christmas was over and the money was in the bank, and if you look at the stats it worked like a charm.. Kind of odd we had a white Christmas with 6 inches of snow here in East Texas and then everyone got sick as a dog, especially the way it came out of no where and the unusual downdraft winds we had proceeding it. They pushed the shit to the ground..

This may sound wierd, but whenever I got so cold it hurts (doesn't happen anymore), I eat something really hot, and I don't mean temperature wise! Hot foods, like ginger, cayenne pepper, horseradish or even garlic will not only warm you up, but, just happen to have healing properties as well.

So if you're game, take a teeny bite of a dried cayenne pepper, or make a cup of strong hot ginger tea.

I caught something a couple weeks ago. Thanks to vitamin D, it was so mild, I was able to keep drinking booze. No big deal.
