Sinus infection for almost 2 months. Has NOT responded to what I would now describe as a cocktail of different antibiotics. Pressure on the eyes and inner ears feels like there's a compressed air line in my head. Round 3 at the Dr.'s tomorrow. There has been discussion of a CatScan. If anyone has an iota of insight, by all means, speak up. The pain was so excruciating prior to the last visit, I honestly thought I was minutes away from checking into the ER. Quoting: Veranidae Seriously, I feel your pain, and it's awful. I have an appointment with ent next week. The pain.....I have chronic migraine, and this pain is worse. It's excruciating. Feel better soon. Likewise, and thank you! I didn't mention the fever, discomfort, upper respiratory infection, etc.; But in like fashion, that's cruised through our home as well. The kids coughed for weeks, and my wife finally saw the Dr. yesterday. The coughing-thing has been unbelievable and rather extraordinary. I'm not sure HOW I dodged the cough. I just read online 2T of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water works wonders. You sweeten to taste with honey. This is the only thing I haven't tried. If you are anywhere near as desperate as I am.....well, thought I'd pass it along. |

Try 1/4 teaspoon(powdered) in water followed by another glass of water a few times a day. You can take more if you can take the heat.:0) They come in drops at the healthfood store and you can just put them in water and see how hot you can stand it. Cayenne is good for many different things. Google about it. |

There is no one cure all. You have to try different things. And of course rest. But vitamin c seems to cut the duration of sicknesses and vit d certainly won't hurt especially in winter. |

The results? The vapor rub reduced the frequency and severity of coughs and congestion - compared to the other two groups. Plus, both sick children and their parents who used the vapor rub treatment slept better than the other two groups. The one symptom the vapor rub failed to significantly improve was runny nose, but, all in all, the vapor rub treatment was a success. Runny nose is just a sign Vaporub it working. Just started feeling better yesterday & today after 3 weeks of coughing, sore throat, temperature, earache, muscle aches, no appetite, impossible to think; the works. The flu came on fast then seemed to get better, til the relapse was worse. Ugh, it's bad but could be worse. Knock on wood this thing is really on the way out, now. Been drinking fresh orange/pineapple/banana smoothies & taking "sambucol" (elderberry) cough syrup for no side-effects relief; I do believe this kept the symptoms milder but really all one can do is sleep it away. Maybe it's nature's way to detox and slow down. |

Stress is hard on the body, it's not surprising that people get sick this time of year...people buying shit they can't afford for people they don't even like... True. And they over eat(lots of sugary foods) and over drink. And many don't get adequate sleep from traveling and/or parties. |

Odd, a lot of my Facebook friends are sick as dogs. Mostly fevers and the stomach flu. One friend in New York keeps posting about practically getting puked on by strangers wherever he goes. Quoting: Beltway Bandit I try to eat a mostly raw veggie/fruit diet these days and switched off the crappy One-a-Days to raw multivitamins with probiotics and enzymes so I'm doing just fine. My skin has never looked better and I feel pretty darn good. Don't think it's so much a conspiracy as that time of year. I read they screwed up this year's flu shot and picked the wrong strain so more people are getting the flu... all the more reason to skip the flu shot. What brand of vitamins are you taking? I take Garden of Life Vitamin Code (for women, natch, as I am one) and they are amazing. Pricey and you're supposed to take 4 a day but unlike the cheap ones, they are made from whole food ingredients and don't make you want to puke when you take them. I down mine with a NutriBullet green shake in the morning (spinach/kale, banana, organic berries, plain yogurt and a scoop of GNC Maximum Greens powder) and can go all day... My hair/nails are growing like weeds, my skin is clear, I'm not getting sick when everyone else around me is and I sleep better too. Highly recommended, wish I'd found them sooner. |

People don't realize (or want to realize) just how much radiation and how many different radioisotopes are STILL being released every minute of every day. Three complete melt-downs with the cores melting out the bottom of their reactors. Also several tons of plutonium were aerosolized when #3 blew up. Plutonium is very hard to detect, normal Geiger counters wont register it. The massive increase of radiation in the environment increases mutation rates in ALL living things, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. So whether it's a new bug or radioisotopic side-effects, I worry that Fukushima is a factor. People should see the movie "On the Beach" for an idea of where this is going. Peace, M.E.H. PS. I took some Salvia Officinalis herb tablets from our local pharmacy and two times 200mg Ibuprofen, three times a day (or when the agony got unbearable) for the ear infection when it was as worst. It has mostly receded now though. Waited for three days, five hours each at the hospital. In queue with those pains and there were just so many sick people for the ENT specialist that I didn't get through at all. So I let my sickness run itself out. Didn't take much except some Vitamin C and Multivitamin supplements. Kept eating a lot of bananas, since I had a sudden craving for them. I am afraid my eardrum might have been damaged by the infection though, the hearing is reduced at one ear along with some serious tinnitus. The strange thing is that I am frequently around an elderly relative. Said relative should be really sick from me by now, but it seems they are immune to whatever it is that's going around here. Have to mention they are older then ninety years. If any foreign minister begins to defend to the death a "peace conference," you can be sure his government has already placed its orders for new battleships and aeroplanes. |
