Vitamin D3.....actually a hormone....will help to strengthen and regulate the immune system.


Most people go deficient during non summer months.

Where did you get the calculation for that? I'm curious because I was basing my dosage for my son who is very small for his age and has aspergers on a book I have been reading. Many say 10,000+ but others say that is too much and can build up calcium in the body.
Edit for: I'm giving him Vit D for bone strength, but mainly to avert the flu. He can't afford to lose weight as he is 58 lbs at 11 3/4 years old.

They recc. 1,000 IU per day for every 15kg of body wt.


It is important to get his blood tested a few times per year. Try to get the level between 50 and 70. You don't want to go over 100 ng/mL.

Ok thanks sorry I didn't see that. Unfortunately, tests aren't an option at this point. From all of the testing he has been put through, he has developed a severe anxiety disorder and thinks he is going to die. If I do anymore testing, all the work we have done to relieve his anxiety will be thrown out the door. This royally sucks.
