Fox News article: "We're now one step closer to America's COMING CIVIL WAR" | |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 31422082 01/03/2013 03:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this is a bad time for our country, we are losing everything we have lived by for so long. Hard work is what this country was built on, not hand outs. Quoting: secretninja We will not have an America much longer, something has to be done to stop this entitlement culture and stop this secular progressive movement. Well said... I think the only hope is JUST MAYBE the military will honor their oaths to defend the US from ALL enemies, from within and without. The enemy is firmly entrenched, and arrogantly boasting, "We have the government now"....so unless our military steps in and defends us the way they should, it seems like we're past the point of no return. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 23534110 01/03/2013 03:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Remember kids, FOX is there to scare the "conservative American" into voting for and supporting of "conservatives" who have personal stakes in business with Saudi Arabia. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15993935 What? Fox news tells it like it is, the way they see it. Whether you think they're right or wrong, whether you agree or disagree, they aren't agenda seeking like the rest of the MSM news. Most of what they report is what's reported here. Things the average American rolls their eyes at. So they get made fun of. You're just following along instead of realizing that. No. Try again. Look @ the owners of FOX. Rupert Murdoch, a rival/enemy of Ted Turner who bases his media operations on free market ideology; unified positions on matters of public policy; global editorial meetings; and opposition to a perceived liberal bias in other public media. He gave $1 million to the Republican Governors Association and $1 million to the conservative U.S. Chamber of Commerce, served on the board of directors of the libertarian Cato Institute and is also a supporter of the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect Intellectual Property Act. On Romney, he tweeted: "Of course I want him [Romney] to win, save us from socialism, etc." The parent company of Fox News had business stakes with Saudi, but the commentators (Hannity, O'Reilly, etc.) were vocally against it and reported likewise. So even if there is an agenda higher up, what's being reported is, like I said, how they see it minus an agenda. |

| Don'tBeAfraid User ID: 1110734 01/03/2013 03:16 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's not two sides. While during the American Civil War (1861-1865) there were people that were polarized by sides, there really were many sides because many people had different ideas about how the country should be. Think about it, the West, which really began in Kentucky and Indiana, was different than say someone in Massachusetts or Georgia. Someone could be for States Rights versus the Union and Federalism, and not be a slave owner at all. The tariff was a bigger issue than people remember today. It was the primary reason for the Civil War, not slavery. Today we have so many disperate groups. Post-modern people don't identify with groups anyway. The idea of Republicans and Democrats is an old paradigm. Yes, you have OWS, Tea Party, Socialists, Communists, but you also have gay folks, disenfranchised folks who are desperately poor, racial groups, etc. All of that is combined together creating lots of sub-groups. It's not simple at all. As people give up more and more, because they need food and support from the government, they need to keep voting for whatever group gives out more (in their minds at least). That follows, right? This means an unscrupulous government and corporate interests could erode the basic freedoms if it interferes with profit and security.
