Genesis says the Sun,Moon and all the stars you see in the sky were made on the 4th day for the benefit of earth. Earth already existed and because Jesus's spiritual presence was already on earth hovering above the water, his presence lit the earth just like it will light the New Jerusalem that will come down from the sky, which we will not need the sun or moon's light in that city, for GOD's glory will light everything just like it did in the beginning before GOD made the Sun, Moon and stars for the benefit of the earth on the 4th day.
