Submarine fleet spotted (cornwall, england)
About an hour ago Was looking out over the bay in charlestown in st austell from my back garden in cornwall and spotted at first what looked like a great deal of wales from a distance but upon inspecting the area in question with my telescope I noticed they were in fact 20 submarines, they were heading towards the atlantic ocean in some speed. Couldn't make out what faction they belonged to but I have a feeling they are russian (just an educated guess) given the fact that the royal navy does not have 20 subs. Perhaps it was just a training exercise or something but they were going at some speed and could clearly see the upper deck. If anybody can debunk what this might have been about or why so many I'd be interested to hear some sensible answers, sorry no pictures! That's all for tonight folks, cheers.

Subs are not known to travel in groups from any nation - not since WWII have subs (German U-Boats) been grouped together and that was for attacks on convoys, of which they paid a high price for doing so.

Yeah figures, only china and russia would have a big enough fleet such as this, I can't imagine it being china so that leaves russia. They've either come from the same direction as spain or gone through the english channel and followed the coast around which would be bizare, but still strange coming from the direction of spain. Perhaps they are meeting the americans for war games or something. Still was a sight to see!

They only keep from grouping at war. It could very well be for something interesting they found underwater. Don't automatically call BS on the guy, there could be many other reasons.

blumerl It's a channel so it's considered international waters. It will be interesting to see if they are heading for the Straits of Gibraltar, or out into the Atlantic.

Just seen this on twitter, I live 5 minutes away from charlestown in cornwall and I too saw a large mass of metalic looking things in the sea earlier this evening and watched them go down towards lands end. Also saw a fuck load of dancing lights in the sky 5 minutes later must have been dese subs !!

Also op did u see the sky lights? My wife saw all this 2 she's quite shook up about the lights. Looked like 1 of the metalic objects at sea pulled away from the others presuming they ar subs and headed in the other direction whilst the others carry on towards lands end and atlantic sea.
