Copyright infringment and software piracy are both theft.

Neither of which they are guilty of or have been proven to be guilty of.
Mega was a cloud file storage service.
The data contents on their servers was uploaded by their users. They did not steal anything.

They even offered a service to copyright holders
with delete access as they could not police their servers
due to the high upload rate.

In one of his advertisements he directly spoke about Echelon and that the US will be pretty much fucked up and have no way to intercept communications of the new Mega network cause it´s all encrypted and p2p based.
