[link to prayerfoundation.org] The verses below reportedly were written on the wall of Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta, India, and are widely attributed to her. People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 961432 01/03/2013 08:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok, here goes. Everything everyone does everyday is to appease an unknown master that dominates our psyche. This master demands we have something called "identity". Its as if your soul exists in a completely detached world, say a suspended animation tank, and only indirectly experiences this world through our senses. The soul knows it exists yet it cannot see itself, or prove in any way that it actually exists so it looks to this social construct of "identity" to give itself value or worth. Now, the lie is that you get this identity from other people you interact with. Some people seek attention, if other say they are attractive or maybe jealous of their appearance then the soul chocks that up to a victory or win in the identity column. So, really we all look to others for our identity. However, if we are all looking around for others to give us identity, who themselves are also looking to others for identity, then real or absolute identity doesn't exist at least in the framework of human interaction. The soul needs identity as a plant needs the sun. That identity does not come from this plane, it can only come from the Source, the Father who gives you an alternative identity during your stay here on earth. Col 3:3. |
