hi folks,

i know, losing weight fast is unhealthy, but is there a way to shed some pounds really fast?

i am just a little overweight (bmi 26) but need a "kick-off" to reduce my weight.

any ideas welcome.

The lack of anything to eat while meeting this limit along with dropping anything with HFCS in it will do the trick. Raw veggies and fresh meet, the diet of champions, and healthy people.

i have no motivation to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks or longer, never had.

i always lost some pounds quick and kept them off, went from 190pounds to 165 in about 3 weeks, 3 years later from 165 to 150pounds in 2 weeks.
no further adjustments,no change in eating habits, just losing them and staying lighter.

after holidays i am now at 153punds, which is 8pounds more than usual and want to lose them quickest possible.

even with those 8pounds off i am still overweight, but will get the next few ones off sometimes later.

with getting older it becomes more difficult..

If you swim -- swimming really seems to burn off fat quickly and get your muscles in nice shape...works all your body at once. Eat healthy middle eastern food (lentil soups, cabbage salads, cucumber tomato salad, hummus...that sort of stuff) and go swimming every day. Mr Rogers (famous American children's television personality) actually had a tendency towards obesity and stayed fit by swimming every day. Good luck.

Low carbs - about 5 %
moderate protein - about 30%
high fat - about 65%
and TONS of water - about 100oz a day

A good multivitamin and you should be good to go.

You will feel like crap for about a week but after that your energy will SOAR. Do not exercise during this time and you could very well lose those 8 lbs in just a week or two. I have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks following the above.

Master cleanse will take off a lbs a day for as long as you do it. In the first few days sometimes 2.

2tbsp lemon juice dash of cayenne pepper and 2tbsp grade b maple syrup, which towards the end you won't even want to add or the cayenne at times, just lemon water. It works as long as you can hack it, the first few days can be rough but after that hunger is gone. Drink a lot the first day or two like 6 to 8 glasses but make sure to have herbal teas and extra water if you take less lemon mix.

You can make popsicles out of it also if you need to chew.

You can safely do this for a month and you will feel better than you ever have. I recommend two weeks its perfect and you won't lose to much. Just make sure to not let yourself get dehydrated, lots of water......

reduce the thermostat in your home so that it is uncomfortably cool and throw off the extra blankets and sleep cool. you will burn calories night and day just to
stay warm

throw in some real outdoor work/exercise cut back on pigging
out and those pounds will just melt away naturally and
probably safely.

Hello Laleela, I'm sure you're beautiful. You can do it, just take your time.

Trust me, I know two people who tried the fast route, and they damaged their heart valves. Rapid weight loss, often by restricting too low carbs and eating protein instead damages the heart valves.

If you're reasonably healthy, here's a trick.

Go on a fast for a week, not a spiritual one, for that is devoted to God, but a fast of your food to help focus you on your plan. Drink pure water. That's important.

This will not harm you if in good health. If you have health issues especially ones with blood sugar, don't do it.

After a few days, in order to maintain your blood sugar, your body will liberate glycogen from your liver and muscles. It's stored there and used upon demand.

Because of that, your muscles will shrink a little and your body will use more water to do biochemical processes to get energy from glycogen. Then in a week, your body will begin to burn fat.

This is why people on short diets lose muscle tone and don't burn fat.

Now try eating again 800 calories a day for two days, 1200 calories for three days, 1500 calories for two days, then repeat. Take a good quality vitamin with meals. All meals include a little fat so you get both water soluable and fat soluble vitamins.

For the next two weeks you'll lose a lot of water. Don't be discouraged. Drink a normal eight glasses of pure and cold water. Drinking it cold makes the body have to expend energy to heat it up.

Start doing mild exercise the second week. Don't over do it. Most people do, strain a muscle, get sore, then quit.

Every seven days, eat a little treat. I mean like a portion of dark chocolate. Don't binge. Eat one little doughnut.

Watch your complex carbs. Eat a deck of card sized portion of a lean meat or poultry or fish. Don't overeat complex carbs. When the body sees an excess, it changes it into fat. You want to encourage fat burning, right?

Don't drink a lot of fruit juices from the store, but it's okay to make some healthy juices yourself. The important thing is no added sugar. It's better to eat all of the oranges that would be in a glass of juice that a fast load of fructose from a glass of that stuff they claim is juice. Putting a dollop of plain yogurt helps keep you regular, gives you protein, and helps you with a boost to your blood sugar, and helps you lose weight.

This is called a rotation diet. It prevent plateauing. Because the calories are increasing, the body says, "Hey, there's a steadily increasing amount of calories. I will allow fat burning to take place." When the body sees rapid weight loss, it slows down your metabolic rate, and makes fat burning difficult.

If you feel unsteady at all, your blood sugar is too low or your exercise intensity is too high. A rule of thumb is to lose no more than 2 lbs per week. I know that seems low, but it's fairly safe. It took a while to gain the weight, it'll take a while to lose it safely.

After two weeks solid, eat a regular meal, but don't go crazy. I think you'll start feeling fabulous and will look great too.

After four weeks solid, eat two regular meals on the seventh day. Don't chow down, but measure the portions that would normally be consumed. The problem is this, pour a bowel of cereal and milk, and then pout what the package says. I bet it's twice or more. This is why people are so overweight.

You'll be stronger, so increase the weight a little. Mostly you want weight bearing exercises. Girls spend too much time doing aerobics. Do something like an elyptical, not running on a treadmill which is very hard on your knees.

A lot of women will experience breast soreness. Use an athletic bra for the support. You're losing a lot of weight and there are tiny suspensory ligaments in the breast. If you lose weight too fast and too much exercise then you can end up tearing those ligaments. Be careful. It's much better to lift weights.

Do abdominal exercises slowly like the one with a ball or an exercise wheel. Don't go too far. As you gained the excess weight, the muscles seperated in your abdomen. It's easy to tear them by doing too much intensity. All people have six packs. Yours is just underneath some weight. If you do this slowly then you'll drop that weight and they will begin to show.

After six weeks, eat three normal meals on the seventh day. You'll be re-educating yourself about how much is normal and satisfying. You can start eating five small meals instead, which is far healthier.

Try to avoid aspartame entirely. It was invented as a rat poison. Don't be their experimental subject.

Now, I forgot an important detail. Use the video camera in your computer to take a picture from the side, front, and back and store them on your computer and password protect it if you're shy. Then journal every day and include the pictures taken twice a week. We can't notice gradual change. We can notice it this way. I think you'll be very excited by week four as your face will be less full and your tricep area will have less sag.

Refer back to the journal to see your progress. Write about what you see that is positive and changing for the better. This will be a very important log of what worked and didn't work. Write when you felt too hungry. Learn to adjust your meal portions so you feel you have enough energy for working out and at work.

Slow weight loss is preferred. What happens is your skin has to shrink at the same rate otherwise you'll get loose skin. Sometimes there are consequences from overeaitng like stretch marks. These may show up more, not because there's more of them, but because you're scutinizing your body more. If it's a big deal, then you can have them trim it up later. Most likely there won't be any because you're going slow and letting your body resculpt naturally.

This is a fairly healthy diet as long as you don't feel week. Having a protein shake will give you calories post-workout when you switch to five meals a day. Excess protein is eliminated in your urine for the most part.

If you notice more weight loss than 2 lbs a week, then increase a little your portion sizes. Be strict about that, okay? Too much weight loss too soon could harm your organs, make your breasts sag, give you loose skin. Go slow.

You probably will have to change the calories to 900 1400 1800 at some point because you're exercising more, building muscle, and doing okay.

In three months, you'll look fantastic. In six months, you'll be the babe that was always inside, but stuck in prison. Let her out to have some fun.

By then, if you can raise the bar again to something like 1000, 1500 1800. Don't get too thin.

Eat healthy meals that provide good nutrition. The lesser calories results in the body needing to burn fat in order to maintain itself. If you cut too low, it stops this process. If you don't cut enough and guess that, "Oh well, that's enough. I'm taking a break." then if there's an excess more fat is generated.

You can do this plan. At some point you can begin eating a normal days worth of food for your age and sex, but if you notice a three lb change, then do a week of the 1000, 1500, 1800 again, and you'll lose it probably. Expect small changes to occur all the time. Don't weigh in every day or you'll get frustrated.
