| Anonymous Coward User ID: 9968554 01/04/2013 01:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How can the U.S. fine and punish a foreign bank? Only the Swiss can fine a Swiss bank. I don't get. The U.S. seems to believe they can tell everyone what to do and how to do it. All these countries need to get to gether and tell the U.S. Guberment to go fuck themselves. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9968554 Better yet, start fining American banks for egregious money laundering activities :D I agree. I would also like to personally sue them for damages incurred indirectly by their laundering of drug money. A class action lawsuit is in order for all those damaged by drugs distributing here by the cartels the banks laundered and are laundering for. |

Notta, no money in taxes, and did it legal like see, whose going to prison for helping them "evade" taxes? A bunch of government officials, also owe billions in back taxes! Alot of the banks here in the U.S. not only didn't pay anything in taxes, but took your fucking tax money to boot! Incredible. Just incredible. How fucking twisted the story becomes by whomever is telling it. How dare those Swiss assholes, not help us fund the jets, and tanks for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The police drones to fly over our once free heads. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 29254219 01/04/2013 02:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe somebody could explain this to me: Doesn't the ruling class of this country evade taxes as a matter of course? So why are the politicians targeting tax evasion? Surely the corporations don't endorse this. Or are only "some" tax evaders being targeted? Or is it a fund-raising scam? The evaders take their monies elsewhere and the govt gets the fine money. But if that is done to enough banks all the other non-US banks will refuse to hold American funds - and make tax evasion impossible? Then how will the ruling class evade? Or, are only "some" banks being targeted and your money is safe if it's in "approved" banks? Is this done merely to reduce the number of banks to a tidy monopoly (the real goal), with the tax evasion charges being the means to that end? Or something else? |

How about criminal prosecution against thousands who knowlingly wrote fraudulent securities and willing underwrote millions of non qualified loans? How about we start yanking some charters to banks that launder drug money, practice racketeering and fraud, and while we are at it reinstate Glass-Steagal and put the $1,000 trillion fraudulent derivatives market onto open exchange like all other securities? |

If you looked at all real wealth (less debt and exposure to paper instruments with potentially cataclysmic counter party risk) there would probably be less than a small room full of people. Pretty soon that small group will have to sacrificing their underlings, throwing them under the bus. The whole thing is smoke and mirrors, like raising taxes. That is supposed to instill confidence in our debt, like we are serious gonna tax the hell out of folks to make our debt good. While the amount they collect is always less and often multiples less than what they really spend via debt. |
| MarkinAZ User ID: 20006444 01/04/2013 02:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When CitiBank and Bank of America and others broke the US laws, foreclosed on thousands thru fraudulent mortgages, and more - they were given bailouts by the US Government. But this little Bank in Switzerland has to close their doors after operating since 1741?? What is America thinking? This isn't "justice" this is a travesty masquerading as "justice". And while "justice" is supposed to be blind - it would seem this version of "Lady Justice" is deaf, dumb, and stupid - too! Pathetic how our governments' greed and avarice can extend around the world and bring such grief to a small Swiss Bank 5500 miles away from the US shores! |

The notion of separate sovereign nations only exsist in your twisted little minds. "Psychopaths derive their power from the complicity of the populous..." |
