I wish the 2012tards had been held accountable

Then, when the 21st came and went with nothing to show, everybody seemed ready to move on right away. Maybe I'm petty, but I wish we had spent a little time rubbing the failed prophecy in their faces. Unfortunately, idiocy springs eternal, as some of the biggest peddlers of 2012 nonsense are still out there blogging, writing books, and giving lectures. And sure enough, their deluded fans have circled the wagons around them. I guess I'll just have to deal with it. I hope people remember 2012 the next time they set up an impressive doom date (though that's an empty wish; the 2012ers should have remembered the lesson of Y2K, but they didn't).

The question is really, why do you care? Did you actually change your life at all based on this? Did you live with more tension and fear because of it? Did those you love sell their things and move to a cave to protect themselves? No. You rolled your eyes and your friends and family probably didn't even know it was happening at all. 2012 was never a real doom date to anyone that looked at the situation at all. Even on GLP the vast majority of people thought it was a joke and this is the lunatic fringe. If things don't affect you that much, it's a waste of time to hold a grudge over it. So, yes, a bit petty. Pretty normal too, but that doesn't excuse holding on to bitterness. It's a new year. Learn from the situation and go on. Don't hold other peoples mistakes against them, especially when doing so can't aid yo in any way.
