We heard nothing from them but either doom or New Age hope porn for years on end, and then they all disappeared off the radar a week before the 21st.

Then, when the 21st came and went with nothing to show, everybody seemed ready to move on right away.

Maybe I'm petty, but I wish we had spent a little time rubbing the failed prophecy in their faces.

Unfortunately, idiocy springs eternal, as some of the biggest peddlers of 2012 nonsense are still out there blogging, writing books, and giving lectures. And sure enough, their deluded fans have circled the wagons around them.

I guess I'll just have to deal with it. I hope people remember 2012 the next time they set up an impressive doom date (though that's an empty wish; the 2012ers should have remembered the lesson of Y2K, but they didn't).
