It happens to me all the time. I only need to think of a few bars of a song and it's stuck for hours. The only way to get rid of it is to think of a different song. Heard you have to listen to other songs. When I get one I immediately try to sing a song I know. This seems to help.

Think about a few other songs that've been stuck in your head or are catchy... force them through your mind, rapid fire. Don't allow yourself to stray back to the primary mental/magnetic attachment... the aforementioned songs should neutralize it.
