Pendulum Experience?

I once told you I felt it was you I was supposed to draw from PA to teach my daughter instead of my sister-in-law.

About a month ago, I purchased a pure copper pendulum with a spiral because I knew I had to have it in my possession. But I'm not a witch, I'm an alchemist and the perplexity bothered me as I was given signs of what they are used for.

Later on, I figured out it's place was to be tethered to that which brings movement of air as above. I thought I was no longer perplexed as my work with it was done.

My daughter is the Libra with purpose above. Tell me what she needs to know to use it and I can tell you how to determine when yours is accurate by observing and analyzing when hers is.

The part of the puzzle you must figure out for yourself lies within these words.

I am not sure at this point. I've been terribly low on energy and questioning myself lately. I use my pendulum almost daily. It has always been my belief that the answers it gives come from our higher self, the part of us that already know what is to come. However, I am starting to wonder if the answers are really our wishful thinking. Do we want something so bad, that we make the pendulum swing the way we want it to? I'm not sure anymore. I'm sorry I am not more help right now. I have barely eaten in 2 weeks and things haven't been going so well.

I would say though, before it is used, make sure it is cleansed of all prior energy. How old is your daughter?

Yes, it will swing the way you want it to if your true intent going in is to get confirmation of a belief you desire to have. As long as the mind stays open, it will still learn a lesson that is needed if what you want is not aligned with your path.

This is what I've found to be true of answers sought from the higher self by use of other tools.


My daughter is 8 and already intuitively knows all of the activities her path has destined her to help with.

Don't be sorry if you're too drained to feel for what's needed; I can relate over the past several weeks too. So, I'll offer up a simple starting point. Our friends have a grandchild in the oven. What's the theory behind how a pendulum is used to determine the sex of a child in womb?

I believed i got it to work when checking the flow of a clients chakras, but other than i didn't notice any noticeable answers coming through. I find just using my hands to feel the energy flow works alot better, or using intuition. But maybe that's just me...

I've spent a lot of time using a pendulum. What I've decided is that it only reflects what I WANT it to. If I ask any question it responds in the direction that reveals a yes or no..........and if change the no to a yes the pendulum stops and begins spinning in the opposite direction.

Seems to only want to please me.

However, I've used it with friends with yes and no answers and know what my friend is thinking....a yes or a no.

It's fun to play with but I don't trust it for anything else.

I just wish someone could explain to me how my thought influences it to spin.

I have found if you close your eyes with a cleared mind while you ask your question and not look at the pendulum until you feel it moving minimizes your mind's interference with it.

Has anyone tried map dowsing with a pendulum or water/other objects dowsing with rods? If you are good at one type of dowsing you will more than likely be good at all.

Using a pendulum I mentioned to my niece that she would soon be pregnant with a male child, that she would have two boys only 18 months apart. So far, one down and one to go. It was just a matter of clearing the mind, asking the question, then accepting what pendulum gave to me.

Thre are some things that I am afraid to ask it. I really don't want to know the answers.

Yep, that makes sense. I really try going into it to tell myself to have an open mind and be open to truth, whether I like it or not.

I know when I was younger, I was taught by my great grandmother how to tell from a pendulum how many kids you will have and what the sex will be, but I don't remember how, sadly. I know there are people who will hold the pendulum over the pregnant woman's belly too. These days, I only use yes/no questions so I would just ask if it is a boy/girl and wait for the yes/no.

Gotcha. I sometimes has issues with trusting my intuition.

I agree. Sometimes it gives me an answer that I don't necessarily like, but for the most part it seems to tell me what I want to hear. I have also used it for friends, and my kids.

I don't know how it happens, whether I am subconsciously moving my hand, or whether my mind is making it move.

its only good until you figure out you can manipulate it, then it will tell you only what you want to hear.

Good idea. I have tried that too, and it seems it doesn't move near as much with my eyes closed. Meaning, I open my eyes and see it barely moving and then it immediately starts moving faster.

I haven't tried that, but I definitely want to learn.

My experience with the pendulum has been the same, I come away thinking that my desire for a particular outcome affected the pendulum's swing.

My brother has a set of dowsing rods that I've messed with a couple of times. I'd like to investigate this method further.

I don't know. I only ask yes/no questions. I imagine there may be someone who knows how to use one by holding over numbers, maybe.

If you don't have any dowsing rods you can just uncoil & bend a couple of coat hangers into a "L" shape. Hold the short part of L very loosely with each hand between your thumb & index finger so that the long part is straight out ahead of you. Again, hold the short ends very loosely so the rod can move on its own.

I once dowsed an artesian well for my husband on a ranch we lived on in Yosemite area using just coat hangers. We already had a well at the main house but he wanted one for the second house he was building. He used it for the 2nd home but also used it to feed 2 ponds he developed. You just need to find the point where the underground rivers come together. After that I dowsed for wells for a couple of our friends & was successful but don't like to do it for other people because if I should ever mess up and pick a wrong spot the drilling is expensive! There are a lot of professionals out there that do it for people.

Haha, maybe a couple of coat hangers are good items for the BOB - to find water.

Also, it's not just water that you can dowse for.

So go get a couple of coat hangers and give it a try even inside your house. It's fun and you'll find out where all your water pipes are under your house.

i have had several ones... for years... I have tried them...as others in this thread have said....It Only Tells YOU want YOU want to hear.....I cannot vouch for the pendulum....
I then give it a break for several months at a time..same thing..I feel are all lies...I.e. Want I want to hear...

Yep. Me too. Maybe 1 out of 10 questions will be an answer I didn't want to hear.

It left me open to possession by a non-physical being. It's out now. I don't mess with it anymore (well, i did one time recently to show something, but didn't go further. I didn't want that experience again.)

If I may try a intuitive gift,

Reads to me like a going-in with the intent of submission with true belief. Believing in the power of the tool with absolute submission of one's own will to harness it.

It's tricky, I know, because one must make the choice to manipulate the energy him/herself, or leave him/herself open to be manipulated by the energy. The first step is making oneself of aware of when the choice is made. More often than not, the choice is made days, weeks, or even years before the action is performed.

In the case of a choice of the latter being followed through, one not sufficiently shielded would find him/herself in a situation described of becoming manipulated by the energy indefinitely.


...and now in following through with the intent to help another (something I must always give to ever get anything I need), I understand what I truly needed to know - that my daughter is not ready to give others answers that are not her own :)

I have used mine for this purpose and it was accurate. If it is not your grandchild, your request should not be emotionally charged and therefore return a "truthful" response. I used my pendulum on my niece when she was pregnant last time and just simply asked "Is this baby a girl" after making sure my pendulum was cleansed and still. It gave me a yes and my great niece just turned four :)

You see, my intent in an opportunity to play a part of showing what this grandchild of my best friend (important tidbit) may be began before the embryo had developed any sex differentiation.

I know the science, but I also know the mythology behind it being the father's choice, so to say, of what sex the baby is.

The thought occurred to me that my belief that the father needs a daughter to grow and that a son will further bind him to vices had already predetermined the outcome of any such reading I were to attempt.

The scary thoughts are along the lines of the consequences had I done so early on with the intent of bending the father's will to what I feel he needs. Living with a notion that I caused what may have been an innocent childhood tortured by the reality of not being what her father wanted her to be would be difficult.

I'm truly blessed to have gotten the two daughters I wanted and needed.
