Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20756371 I like the idea of different fillings. There shall be no defiling the perogy by baking them. Boil them, saute them lightly in butter, top with sour cream, carmelized onions if applicable and enjoy. The only way to eat them. Well deep fried is kind of yummy once in a while too. Baking them does not work trust me. If you are looking to cut calories, eat them boiled. You just throw them in a pot of gently boiling water and when they rise to the top they are done. If you put a tad of oil in the water when cooking them they won't stick together. Some of the perogy places around here makes tons of different varieties. Used to make my own when the kids were young. Potato, bacon, cheese, onion, sauerkraut, blueberry, plum, cottage cheese, meat, dill, the list is endless but all yummy. Now I'm craving holopchi and perogies for dinner. Maybe I'll add some beet borscht, perfect winter meal. |

We have to take them down soon, as well as the tree. I also have one room decorated with lights going all around the ceiling, that will probably have to come down soon too :( Quoting: Laura Bow Leave the indoor lights up! |

Yo-Yo User ID: 30598641 United States 01/08/2013 08:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really miss seeing the Christmas lights and trees right about now. From a spiritual point of view, I absolutely love Christmas even though the Bible does not specifically state the month/date Christ was born. I took down the Christmas tree, outside lights, and nativity scene after January 6th, in recognition of the 'Epiphany of the Wise Men' although, again, the Bible does not mention a specific date the wise men actually reached the Christ child. Because my kids are still not ready to let go of Christmas-feeling, we still have up a very small table-top tree/lights in the foyer that we will probably be taking down on the 13th of this month. Last Edited by Yo-Yo on 01/08/2013 08:58 PM It's Christmas all year through! |

My lights are on.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17888588 You should be ashamed for contributing to the cheap commercialism of a societally-designated "holiday" and for using unnecessary electricity. It's 2013. Get a clue and be a responsible citizen. |

Its spending time with those you love :) :kitten on fence: |
JustCinnamon User ID: 29750990 Canada 01/09/2013 06:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I took mine down last weekend. :( I miss them. Although, I put up a "Snow Baby" village...with fake white snow, and blue lights underneath the "snow." I keep that up all winter. :) Last Edited by Zuzu's Petals on 01/09/2013 06:52 AM "I don't have pet peeves; I have major psychotic ******* hatreds, okay.
