Just talked to my "close family member" that works in management at a Cabela's. Sorry, I can/will not give out any other source info. This was not supposed to show up until next year, on the receipt. They were just installing the new software on the Cabela's computers at corporate, and running a test with it. They obviously had a "glitch", during the test. This is supposed to be rolled out next year, and was supposed to stay quiet for now. Baby steps!

It's debatable whether or not even that is Constitutional...

BUT if you try to buy a bottle of oxygen, you WILL see that tax along with sales tax...

So it's just relative to the product sold...

I would be willing to bet if you buy a first aid kit at an sporting goods store you will soon see this tax added in...

I think next time I'm at Cabela's I'll buy a first aid kit and just see. The tax is on all medical equipment. Is a first aid kit considered "equipment"?

Good for Cabella's in putting this on the receipt...it draws attention to it..makes everyone take notice.

I work for a medical manufacturer, we just took a 2.3% price increase as of Jan 1st on all our products to cover Obamacare.

Oh it's going to cost us hidden fees everywhere!

Does anyone else see the irony here?

Add a tax to medical devices which will necessarily increase the cost of medical devices and indirectly increase the cost of health care

and the reason for the new tax??? To pay for health care.

It looked like a way to show us what we are actually being suckered for.

I would rather see a tax breakdown on my receipt than have it masked as a price increase.

Intentional? - Bravo to Cabella's for showing it.

Unintentional? - A nice way to show us being screwed.
