Well, I'm 20 and I'm not ready to have a gun. I would freak out. I'm scared of guns.

I had to remind my own daughter of it lately. She's learning now and I say it's about time! The only gun in my house is a riffle. If you can lift it and hold it straight and steady, find someone qualified to teach you how to use it. It is MUCH safer to know how to use it properly, if you need it, than wave it around and have it taken from you and used against you.
